Seeking a Good OB GYN in a Small Practice Preferably in Littleton Area
I am seeking a good, experienced OB GYN who has a small practice. I want to see the SAME doctor during each visit, and I want that SAME doctor to be the one who delivers the baby. I had a C- Section with my first baby, but I want to try for a VBAC with the next one. I would like to find a doctor who is open to trying for a VBAC and who wouldn't push a C-Section on me. I also want to find a doctor who doesn't try to push you to schedule an induction before the due date. I live close to Littleton Adventist Hospital, so it would be great if I found a doctor who is affiliated with that hospital.

I know this is a little late in responding here, but I see Dr. McLaughlin with the Women's Group, who shares an office with Dr. Bowman, who many have mentioned. She is located out of Littleton Hospital, and she delivered my 2 VBAC babies, and is letting me try VBAC with my twins that I am pregnant with now. It is a great small pracitce. I actually switched OBs with my 2nd pregnancy to find someone who was more VBAC friendly, and I found Dr. McLaughlin, and have loved her since!

I am a doula and think it's totally worth the drive if you are having a VBAC to go to University hospital in Aurora, and specifically, the Center For Midwifery. They are the most VBAC friendly hospital and practice I've seen in the Denver Metro area. There are 4 of them, but they are all wonderful. Interview! It's always important to choose someone who is on the same page as you, but even more important when wanting a VBAC. You should consider having a doula no matter where or with who you birth. A doula will be supportive of your decisions, help answer questions and be a familiar face. I hope you find someone awesome!

I highly recommend Dr. Patricia Brown she is based out of Littleton Hospital but also delivers at Sky Ridge. I have been with Dr. Brown for almost 20 years and she delivered my first little girl at Sky Ridge last year. She the only OB/GYN in her practice which I really love. She partners with another small practice and they are great as well. Good Luck!!

You might try Dr. Charles Giarratana, on the northeastern end of Highlands Ranch. Same doctor every time; I may have given birth at Littleton Hospital. (after several kids, it all becomes a blur)
She's eight now, and I switched to him during the 7th month of my last pregnancy. (Had a problem with another doctor pooh-poohing a health problem, so I switched, and he was very nice about it.)

Dr. Debra Bowman, ###-###-####. She will do a VBAC and even encourage it. You would see her or her NP. She delivers I think about 90% of the women she sees. There are obviously some scenarios where it doesn't work. But I think she is GREAT!
Good Luck!

I really like Dr. Debra Bowman. ###-###-####. Her office is located in the building attached to Littleton Hospital. She also shares an office with Dr. Lois McLauchlan (whom I also really liked - she ended up delivering my son only because it was an emergency and Dr. Bowman was on a rare trip out of town). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either doctor. I would strongly encourage you to meet with them just to discuss your situation and find out the opinion on VBAC as I am not sure about that.

A.,
I saw a practice with three midwives--you saw all three and one of them would be there for delivery. They are very low intervention, and open to what you want for a birth. Their website is http://midwivesatswedish.com/.
Also, Dr. Anselmi is a family doc that still does births. He delivers at Littleton, I think. He is in a solo practice. I don't know his views on VBACs, but he is super laid back, and fine with not inducing, or pushing anything on you. He did natural home births for his wife and kids, so is pretty naturally minded. He is located at 79l20 S University Blvd # 100
