Seeking a Good OB GYN in a Small Practice Preferably in Littleton Area

I am seeking a good, experienced OB GYN who has a small practice. I want to see the SAME doctor during each visit, and I want that SAME doctor to be the one who delivers the baby. I had a C- Section with my first baby, but I want to try for a VBAC with the next one. I would like to find a doctor who is open to trying for a VBAC and who wouldn't push a C-Section on me. I also want to find a doctor who doesn't try to push you to schedule an induction before the due date. I live close to Littleton Adventist Hospital, so it would be great if I found a doctor who is affiliated with that hospital.

What can I do next?

I know this is a little late in responding here, but I see Dr. McLaughlin with the Women's Group, who shares an office with Dr. Bowman, who many have mentioned. She is located out of Littleton Hospital, and she delivered my 2 VBAC babies, and is letting me try VBAC with my twins that I am pregnant with now. It is a great small pracitce. I actually switched OBs with my 2nd pregnancy to find someone who was more VBAC friendly, and I found Dr. McLaughlin, and have loved her since!

I used Dr Wayne Furr, but he is more in the Highlands Ranch area. He delivers at Littleton, Swedish and Sky Ridge. He is very knowledgeable, and nice. He is highly recommended for high risk pregnancies. I'm not sure about his views on VBAC, since I hadn't had one. His number is ###-###-####. Good luck

Hi A.,

Dr Wayne Furr is located in Lone Tree area. It's a small practice, not sure about your other questions. He is very sweet and recently brought in another doctor. There are only 2 doctors.
Good Luck.

So Denver OB/GYN ###-###-####. The buliding is right in front of the hospital. Yes, they do VBAC's I was going to try, but had terrible back labor...

My 2 favorite Dr's are:

Male Dr - Dr Roy Bergstrom
female Dr - Dr Lisa Becker

You will see the same doctor every time unless you have an emergency and they aren't available or if you don't care.

Be careful of a practice that is too small, their back up could be the on call Dr at the hospital... which is what happened with my first pediatrician, I was very upset that my babies doctor didn't make it to see us within that 4 day period.

Dr Becker went out of her way to find out why I was having trouble carring a baby to term and waalaa I was pregnant and carried to term the very next conception!

CNP Sue Saidon, She's super awesome! She held my hand thru both of my high risk pregnancies.

I've seen Dr Lennon (he was amazing) He delivered my 2nd/last baby and I can barely see my stitches.

Dr Bergstrom delivered my first baby 4yrs ago, even if I'm not there to see him, he always remembers me and makes a point to say hi. My mother hasn't been to an OB for 40 years and was also super comfortable with Dr Bergstrom and Dr Becker!

I live in SE Centennial and still drive over there.
Yesterday I was at the hospital having an ablation and Dr Bergstrom did it - so far so good! I feel amazing!

I can't say enough good stuff about this practice.
Give them a call - you won't be disapointed - Tell them M. Krneta sent you... maybe I'll get a starbucks referral card! lol

I have been seeing my dr since I was 16 and I couldn't be happier! She delivered my daughter 3 years ago and I can't imagine going to someone else. She's affiliated with Littleton and I think you would love her too.

I go to Dr. Brown (so do three of mine friends) and love her! She is well respected by her colleagues. Her office is in the building next to Littleton hospital. See her contact info below. Good luck! (She is the only OB/GYN in her office. Kathy is the nurse practioner, but you only see her if you make appointments with her. Kathy is fabulous too!)

I saw a practice with three midwives--you saw all three and one of them would be there for delivery. They are very low intervention, and open to what you want for a birth. Their website is http://midwivesatswedish.com/.

Also, Dr. Anselmi is a family doc that still does births. He delivers at Littleton, I think. He is in a solo practice. I don't know his views on VBACs, but he is super laid back, and fine with not inducing, or pushing anything on you. He did natural home births for his wife and kids, so is pretty naturally minded. He is located at 79l20 S University Blvd # 100
Centennial, CO 80122-5103

Dr. Patricia Brown is excellent! She delivered my first baby at Littleton Hospital in December 2009 and she was very caring, patient and answered every question I had and made me feel at ease. She's a great small practice and her staff is professional.

I really like Dr. Debra Bowman. ###-###-####. Her office is located in the building attached to Littleton Hospital. She also shares an office with Dr. Lois McLauchlan (whom I also really liked - she ended up delivering my son only because it was an emergency and Dr. Bowman was on a rare trip out of town). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either doctor. I would strongly encourage you to meet with them just to discuss your situation and find out the opinion on VBAC as I am not sure about that.

Dr. Debra Bowman, ###-###-####. She will do a VBAC and even encourage it. You would see her or her NP. She delivers I think about 90% of the women she sees. There are obviously some scenarios where it doesn't work. But I think she is GREAT!

Good Luck!

You might try Dr. Charles Giarratana, on the northeastern end of Highlands Ranch. Same doctor every time; I may have given birth at Littleton Hospital. (after several kids, it all becomes a blur)

She's eight now, and I switched to him during the 7th month of my last pregnancy. (Had a problem with another doctor pooh-poohing a health problem, so I switched, and he was very nice about it.)

I highly recommend Dr. Patricia Brown she is based out of Littleton Hospital but also delivers at Sky Ridge. I have been with Dr. Brown for almost 20 years and she delivered my first little girl at Sky Ridge last year. She the only OB/GYN in her practice which I really love. She partners with another small practice and they are great as well. Good Luck!!

I am a doula and think it's totally worth the drive if you are having a VBAC to go to University hospital in Aurora, and specifically, the Center For Midwifery. They are the most VBAC friendly hospital and practice I've seen in the Denver Metro area. There are 4 of them, but they are all wonderful. Interview! It's always important to choose someone who is on the same page as you, but even more important when wanting a VBAC. You should consider having a doula no matter where or with who you birth. A doula will be supportive of your decisions, help answer questions and be a familiar face. I hope you find someone awesome!
