Help! My OB Is Leaving the Area!
I am currently 27 weeks pregnant and found out that my OB is leaving the practice and moving out of the Denver area. Now I'm looking for a new OB. I delivered my 10 month old daughter at Sky Ridge last year, so I'd like to go back there to deliver. Does anyone have any suggestion, or warnings, about OB Dr's in the SE Denver/Tech Center/Sky Ridge area? Thanks!!

A.: I agree with the last two responses, Rocky Mountain OB/GYN is very good. They do deliver at both Skyridge and Rose. I do like all of the doctors in the practice but am especially fond of Dr. Yuko D'Ambrosia but last i knew, she is only at Sky Ridge on Mondays, she primarily practices out of Rose. She is by far the best doctor I have ever had. But whomever you end up with there will be great. Good luck! A.

Hi- i love my OB, Hal Levy, who is part of the Rocky Mountain OBGyn practice. I believe he goes to Rose and Sky Ridge and he is great. I have met others in the practice as well, such as Dr. Dix (female, whose first name escapes me) who delivered my son. I think she is still there. I think they are all great!

You have to think about what you want from your birth experience. I am a doula and I work with all types of births and I always say to my clients, you can't go to McDonald's and ask for a pizza, you have to go to Pizza Hut. In other words, do you want natural birth or an epidural, what issues are important to you, then you can be better able to choose a provider. Everyone's birth is different, so it's hard to listen to other people say, I had a great birth with Dr.X, but a great birth to them might be different from what you want. If you want to tell me what you want for your birth, I might be able to better help. My website is www.birthfirstdoula.vpweb.com.

Hi A.,
I have a wonderful OB that works out of both Skyridge and Swedish. I had pre-eclampsia with my first pregnancy, which he saw comming at week 16. He was very proactive and supportive at the same time. I didn't have high blood pressure until week 35, and delivered at 36. My son is now a happy healthy 4 year old. I am also currently pregnant, about 28 weeks. About one month ago I developed a hernia, with an obstructed bowel. Thankfully partially due to his diligence I did not have to have surgery while pregnant. I was in the hospital for four days and w2e were able to get the bowel to retract on its own. Now I can have surgery after the baby is born, which is better for the both of us. Dr. Gore checked on me everyday, even on the weekend, and was very honest and caring. I would recommend him to anyone. Dr. Robert Gore ###-###-####
Good Luck in your search, I hope this helps.

I was *very* happy with the care I got from South Metro OB/GYN (www.southmetroobgyn.com). I had both my kids with them (Drs. Harding and Granadillo) and I think I've seen every doctor there except one. They are all fantastic, as are the Nurse Practitioners. (There was a doc there I didn't like but he's gone.)
I had a few issues (gestational diabetes, blood clotting disorder, previous miscarriage, out-of-country for first half of last pregnancy) and both kids were delivered via c-section. I felt like I got really good care and they advocated for me with specialists at the hospital.
They work out of Sky Ridge and Swedish, and their offices are right next to the hospital at both locations.
Good luck & happy birth!

Hi A.,
I have a wonderful OBGYN. My daugther was delivered by Dr Etten and I still continue to see her. She is part of the OBGYN Center at Skyridge hospital. Sorry I don't have their phone # handy, but the office is in the Aspen building located at SkyRidge. I actually had an emergency during the birth of my daughter and she handled it wonderfully and took really good care of me. All of the Dr's that I have seen have been great at the OBGYN Center. Hope this helps- good luck.

I echo Ridgegate (Stallworth/Zart) - a big plus is that their office is at SkyRidge, so they go back and forth a lot. I've never seen the other doctor, so don't know about her. My daughter was a "surprise" baby - we found out we were pregnant about 7 months - no prenatal care at all to that point.
Dr. Stallworth took us on as a patient, even at that late date. He was really great, as was Dr. Zart. The office staff is really wonderful and caring - my daughter is now 3, and they ask about her and want to see pictures everytime I go in.
I ended up with a C-section (lots of risk factors, needless to say :-)), and had no complications, scar is very minimal. After care was great. My daughter was born the 4th of July weekend when Dr. Zart was getting married, and Stallworth was in several times a day each day.
Highly recommended.
