That was my night tonight :)

What's YOUR "go get" food when cooking is just not going to happen?

What can I do next?

Most likely Subway, followed closely by pizza, then Taco Bell. If I were a millionaire, I would not even have a kitchen in my house, lol!

I'm so picky about pizza...can't find a place I like. So when I don't want to cook, we go for a store-bought rotisserie chicken.

I didn't feel like cooking tonight so we had tostadas...premade shells and canned refried beans are ALWAYS in the pantry and lettuce and cheese are ALWAYS in the fridge. Just heat the beans in the micro and you are good to go! Otherwise its frozen pizza, corn dogs or in the summers a tuna salad. Sometimes scrambled eggs and toast is fast and easy. =)

Tonight I made YUMMY soup. Son decided to throw a tantrum and not eat dinner (he liked the soup, he was just to mad at me to eat). Husband had a dinner meeting. So I made yummy soup and NOONE ate it (except me.) So sad. But on the bright side, tomorrow, dinner is already done!

I realized about an hour before I got off work that I had not taken anything out to defrost for dinner. Could have called my son and had him take something out but it would still be frozen.

In our house it was PBJ and milk and raw veggies tonight for dinner. Our other go to meal is scrambled eggs - but I already did that this week. Hmmm, guess I better take something out now for dinner tomorrow or we will be having cereal. Sadly, my teen prefers these go to meals more than well thought out menus. :)

yah pizza, though ours is frozen because it has to be gluten free for my daughter... if we don't have one, then the next best thing is pasta and sauce :)

Eggs or French toast or Sushi or "cheese and craker night". - A plate of cheese, crackers, apples, strawberries, blueberries - whatever fruit I have.... and when we are truly desperate - McDonalds....

I typically keep a few frozen "Amy's" pizzas on hand. They are organic, all-natural, vegetarian, and DELICIOUS! My kids devour them, and don't even try to pick off the veggies.

If I am REALLY pressed for time, we have a really great restaurant that has a drive thru window. I get dry rub ribs, rotisserie chicken, roasted veggies, and a Greek salad. SO good!! I call in my oder, put the kids in the car, and by the time we get there, it is ready. 15 min dinner.

Now that my 17 year old can drive (she got her license about 10 days ago...but won't go thru a drive thru or go on the highway), she will go get Subway/cheap pasta place /Chinese take out that are all in a mini mall 3 miles away.

Our biggest issue is we never have cash! So we have started transferring money to her account before or after to cover it! Making it work!

We have a number of options:

1. Pizza
2. Chinese take-out
3. BBQ ribs from one place near us that we get as take-out and are amazing.

Our options here are rather limited. The town where I live has a McDonalds, a Subway, Pizza Hut and Quiznos. Bleh.
So when I'm totally over the idea of cooking I usually do frozen pizza. Costco has some really good, super-thin crust ones that we love. Otherwise it's cereal or a huge bowl of hot, buttered popcorn, but I can only get away with that when hubby is not around. :)

Pizza here, too if I don't want to leave the house. If I don't want to cook but still want something good we go to a local bar/restaurant around the corner from the house. They've got great specials on certain nights of the week like Mondays are $6 burger night so that's what we did earlier this week.

Haha...we had pizza for dinner tonight too. It's usually between that or getting an already cooked chicken at Fred Meyer and pulling it apart and making tacos. I think the chicken is better for ya but I think it takes more time than opening a pizza box.

We make pizza, so that's my "I don't want to think about anything" dinner to make at home. My husband's fast easy at home meal is fettuccine Alfredo--his is the best!

If I'm desperate and don't want to cook, I'll beg my husband to bring me a garbage plate. My kids aren't interested in them, so on a bad night they'll have Ramen or something equally atrocious. :)

By the way, the Garbage Plate is the most beautiful and glorious pile of food ever dumped in a styrofoam take-out container: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Tahou_Hots. In fact, I think it is supposed to be featured tomorrow night on Man vs. Food. :)

Now I'm HUNGRY!!!
