Hello All,

During my pregnancy, I got bumps all over my legs. These bumps looked like an insect bites but they came out of nowhere. They left me scars all over my legs that I am getting annoyed by. I went to a dermatology and was told the scars will fed away in time if left alone. But also he he prescribed me a bleach.. which is not helping. Any one knows any other remedy to get rid of scars?

What can I do next?

Hi M.,
I have insect bites on my legs and treat them with cocoa butter. They do eventually clear but it does take some time. I buy the 100% cocoa butter stick and rub on each bite at night. I also put it on right out of the shower before I apply lotion.

I had a cut on the bridge of my nose that required a couple stitches. Since it was on my face, I wanted to minimize scarring. Somewhere I got the idea to use Vitamin E capsules, the ones with liquid inside. I would poke a hole in them with a pin and rub the oil into the scar every day. Now you can't even tell it was a scar. Sort of looks like a large pore. Anyway, I think you can get vitamin E in liquid form without messing with dozens of capsules. It worked for me, so it can't hurt to try.

Bio Oil seemed to work pretty well for me with stretch marks in reducing visibility, but you have to be religious about putting it on to keep your skin moist. Never heard of the bumps though.

Use 100% cocoa butter in the stick a few times a day.

I have a huge scar on my arm from surgery and have used the Mama Mio See No Scar Soloution and it has really made the scar look a lot better. I think if you have small scars on your legs it will probably do really well. You will have to use it consistently but I was really amazed by the results. Amazon sells it. Good luck!!

You can try vitamin E oil (I buy it from Whole foods) or Mederma.

My daughter hurt herself a couple of months ago and had 3 stitches in the middle of her forehead. The pediatrician recommended Mederma to get rid of the scar as well as avoiding sun exposure and use lots of sun block on it, as sun really will make the scar even worse. I use regular Mederma at home and Mederma with sun block in it (+ regular sun block) outside. I buy it from CVS. My daughter scar has nearly vanished, while my son scar is still as it used to be (he didn't have stitches, a smaller cut and long ago but no cream on it). Now, I'm beginning to use Mederma and vit. E on my son's scar as well.
Good luck!

Time can really help a lot. I have a scar on my chin that's greatly improved over time. Also, you might consider using a cover-up cream. I use Dermablend on my scar and know they make a special cover-up cream for legs.

I have treated scars on my legs with either straight Vitamin E oil or your basic A&D Diaper ointment. My skins responds best to the A&D. But you must apply it nightly before bed for several weeks to see improvement. Scrub and exfoliate well in the shower/bath with a good loofah or mit, then apply a good lotion. And don't shave too often, just 1-2x a week. No more.

I don't know if the dermatologist knew what your scars were caused by. When I was pregnant, I developed a condition called PUPPS where I developed bumps all over my legs, arms, etc. They were also very itchy. My scars did eventually disappear over time with no kind of special treatment -- a few months after delivery. Heres a link to more info on PUPPS if you think that is what you had http://dermatology.about.com/cs/pregnancy/a/puppp.htm

Good luck!

Have you tried Mederma? It takes a while to notice a difference, but if you stick with it, it does help. Good luck!

how do you get rid of scars on the legs.. long pants. a bleach with not heal scaring on the legs or anywhere else for that matter.typically, its called pregnancy related scaring that is due to the extra pressure that the legs are put through due to a pregnancy. also , typically, any product that promises to remove stretch marks or some of the other bodily signs of a pregnancy is really just a fancy way of parting you from your wallet. why would you want to remove signs on your body that you did the one thing that NO man can ever do ??
