Scan

I had a scan last week and they could see nothing. I had the scan when I was three weeks pregnant. Since then I have taken three pregnancy tests and they are all positive. The Doctor says I might not be pregnant or is it just too early to detect. All they could see was the thickening of the endometrium.

What can I do next?

Hi E.,
I'm not clear what your question is... or did you simply want to make a statement?

It's too early to see anything on the scan. Trust the test results for now, and wait at least until week 6 or 7 to get another scan. Your doctor should not have even done a scan that early.

I had a false pregancy. The original 2 cells connect to tell your body you're pregnant, but the cells don't grow for some reason. Still makes you feel sad.

if this is a question as to if you are techinically pregnant. um, you won't really see anyting until 5-6 wks pregnant....no one sees anything really at 3 wks...most people don't even know they're pregnant....

I'm surprised they did a scan. Why do you doubt the pregnancy tests? They are so accurate that the drs. don't even need to confirm them anymore unless you have an underlying health condition. I didn't see my dr. until the 8th week and they just did a physical exam. I asked for an ultrasound so I could give pictures to announce the pregnancy and they called it a "dating ultrasound." That way the insurance would pay for it. My practice doesn't usually do ultrasounds until around 20 weeks. They're not necessary unless there's a question or health issue.

I would act as if you are pregnant, eat well, get plenty of rest, drink water, avoid alcohol and avoid meds if possible. Enjoy!

Hi E.
My story:
I went to OB/GYN because I was feeling awful (no periods) and had just moved back to the area. My boys were 18 & 13yo at the time. I assumed I was having some Gyn problems. They said they had to do pg.test. I agreed. They did said I was pg, then I had some bleeding issues so went back to OB and he thought I had miscarried but would check with ultrasound. He used the hand held and said no baby schedule ultrasound with the bigger machine and a D&C. I did & went back to the office about 3 weeks later to be admitted. They did the ultrasound and I finally said to tech, it is ok OB already said there was no baby. She swung the screen around and said "See this, this is baby A, see this, this is baby B, what I need to know is have you ever been diagnosed with fibroid tumors? I had and she was satisfied that was not baby C. 7 1/2 months later at 37weeks I delivered 5#11oz & 6#8oz twin girls.
I am proof that even when they say "there is no baby" not "might not" they can be wrong
May God bless you with His touch
