An amazing actor, Singer and man. I still feel good when I watch the Andy Grriffith Show. Reminds me of the small town in Mid Mo I spent all my childhood summers.
He was a great example of how to be famous and still keep your feet firm on the ground.
He will be missed
North Carolina NBC affiliate WITN-TV has reported that the entertainer died this morning. But NBC was not able to immediately confirm his death.
Wow.... I am sorry he has passed. He was a vintage comedian, truly funny.
He was a guy who could do 'clean' humor really well and seemed to have a sense of quality (instead of flash) about him, even as he did shows and movies in later part of his life.
He will be missed.
Be sure to watch his really old movies. He was a really good actor.
One of our recent favorites was his performance in "Waitress". We were so surprised when we first saw the movie, we had no idea he was in it.
RIP Andy, we will miss you.
My absolute favorite show as a child. It remains a favorite, even as an adult. So sad he passed, but very happy he was able to live such a full life!
I love The Andy Griffith show, and Mayberry RFD and Matlock, too.

I love the Andy Griffith Show and my visits to Mayberry. A simple life in a small town in anywhere America. I love the honest affection these people have for each other and the fact that may have differences and argue they never forget that friendship is more important than the differences.
I wasn't too big a fan of Matlock.
But the amazing thing is Andy Griffith had a Master's degree from I think Yale or Harvard and played the simply man so well.
He will be missed.
I seen he passed away this morning.
He is someone that alot of the performers today should be looking up to and following his lead... He is a very respectable man for a reason.
I watched his shows when I was a kid and as I grew up. I loved his as the sheriff of Mayberry. To me he made the show. I loved that he would take Opie fishing at the beginning credits of each show. An ideal time in America.
I'll miss him. I especially liked him in "No time for Sergeants".

{sniff} I still can sit and watch marathons of the old shows, such a simpler and wonderful time. I never knew the words to the theme song, here's a youtube link that plays it.

He will be missed. We still tune in to the show and watch when they have marathons. I loved that show growing up.
I heard about this as I was driving home from dropping my son off at baseball camp....really sad!!!
I saw that a few minutes ago, S.. He was a wonderful man and I am sad that he's gone. North Carolina will especially miss him, I think.

I sent my 17 year old son off this morning in his complete Police Department Cadet uniform to work security at the July 4th festivities. He was only gone a few minutes when he called me. I thought maybe he had a flat tire or something.
He called to tell me that he heard on the radio that Andy Griffith passed away.
My father was from the South and sounded just like Andy Griffith. My father even looked like him.
From the time he was little, my son loved that show. We even have DVD's of it.
I'm almost 50 and grew up watching that show.
I hope Andy would be touched that even younger generations mourn his passing.
This world is full of fabulous people, but very few of us leave a legacy on screen.
He will never really be that far away from us when you think of it that way.
