Rockville Maryland Visit This Summer

My daughter will attend a goalie camp in Rockville Maryland and at the same time I will visit family in Brians Road and White Plains. It will just be the two of us and some of the time we will eat with my aunt at her home, but I will also get a room in Rockville to avoid the commute for a few days.

We will take the tour the weekend we get there and once she starts camp, we will not have much time or energy to do anything fun. But, we must eat. Are there any restaurants that we must go to?

I loved everyones suggestions when we went to Washington.

Okay...edit...I was going to avoid the list of places I like because it takes away my adventure. I cannot eat seafood or Asian food. I really really really like a good fresh burger. Even when places swear the burger is fresh, it usually tastes amiss. So I make my own burgers, but am willing to give the suggested places a try.

Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

Silver Diner is fun. It's like an old 50s diner feel, with upscale modern twists on traditional diner food (there's also the old standby stuff of course).

We like Cheeburger Cheeburger, and they put kids' meals in a cardboard car. Fun, kid friendly place.

Chef Geoff's has a great reputation!

There are a few good BBQ places as well, if you enjoy that.

Cheesecake Factory is still in Rockville, I believe.
Have fun! :)

Rockville is an easy commute via metro into DC....

If you want to drive to the National Harbor? Ketchup. People love their hamburgers!!

What kind of food do you like? That would help in directing you to eateries!

While you are in Rockville, Brookside Gardens is a short trip, and free, and beautiful. They have their butterfly exhibit going on right now (that requires tickets, but the rest is open).

I have heard good things about Elevation Burger in the Westfield Wheaton mall, but I have not eaten there. My stepkids like Five Guys. I think there's one in Gaithersburg now. Downtown Silver Spring has a lot of food within walking distance of parking.

Eggspectation in DSS is fun for kids and if you want to get a little fancier, Jackie's is good, too.

Personally, I'd avoid Cheesecake Factory as the lines are always very long. Same with Outback.
