Throw a sheet up in the background and use your or a friends digital camera. Have a friend take the pictures. Everybody is digital now, so why pay for it? Just take lots of pictures, upload them to snapfish or some other company and get really cheap prints. I am a photographer... with a degree and I can tell you everybody is a "professional photographer" That means somebody paid them to do something..it does not mean you are going to get the results you want. You will just be pressured in most cases to accept average photos because they are studio portraits.

We have been really happy with portrait innovations. The location I have been to is in Highland Village, but I am sure there would be one closer to you! Really well priced, and you get them back right after the photo shoot. They do a really nice job for a simple portrait shot. ~A.~

For basic studio shots, JCPenney's usually has great prices (like $4 or $8). Even Walmart -- we did my daughter at 9 months with just a plain black background and they turned out great.

For something more artistic, try www.kidsathomestudios.com. They bring the studio to you. I believe they can also set up the studio in their home. It's a husband/wife team in Denton and we've used them several times. Always, always get compliments on their work.

Check out Desiree at Justoneyear.com. She has a studio in Frisco and is pretty reasonable. She is awesome with kids and will work to give you what you want. Hope this helps!

We recently used a lady named Erin Joy and we had our pics done at the Women's University in Denton. Erin was so accomodating and was willing to meet us anywhere. Hi S.! Studio One to One in Stonebriar mall in Frisco is offering an 11 for $11 package! We've gone there several times and we absolutely love them! They take around 30 photos so you can make sure you get what you want and they do great photos with babies! Their other portrait sheets are pricey, but you get an 8X10 with the 11 portrait package. It is so worth it when it's as cheap as that! Plus, you can go to their website at www.s121.com and set an appointment online.
