Mom's - I've always been very conscientious of my weight and the way I look but somehow right now am unable to get a handle on it. I know what to do and start of with the right intentions and wham...it is out the window. We are on a strict budget so going through a weight loss program and or a gym is out of the question. I have a swim school and am in a bathing suit for 4 months of the year. I actually start up again today and haven't been sleeping for weeks dreading being in a bathing suit. I have signed up on the site for an exercise partner and one has responded but haven't been able to start yet. It's very difficult as my sister is very fit and has the finances to afford pilates; weight room; dieting plans etc....I am at an all time high stress filled situations right now with finances; kids; marriage etc. I take anti-anxiety but have for about 10 years....I have about 50 pounds to lose...any help????????

Try a two day on, one day off approach. Stick to your diet for two days, then take the third day as a 'cheat' day. That way you can always look forward to the third day, while still making progress on the other two days. Studies have shown people are much more likely to stick with this type of dieting.

Have your stress hormone cotisol checked. If you are deficient in cortisol it will make you hungry and losing wieght is near impossible! Also - stop stressing about the money - connect with your spirit! Spend time power walking and talking to God - you will be suprised how much a walk can do!

I felt like I was reading about myself! I have five kids from 3-19. Since July I gained 20 pounds and don't know how it happened. I was on Weight Watchers 4 years ago and lost 30lbs. Since Jan I tried to go back to my WW and walk at least 4 days a week but apparently that's not enough. I just go up and down. It is definitely harder this time, maybe it's because I'm 4 years older. So frustrating.
Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.
The battle of the bulge is hard and takes patience. Just start a walking routine and keep your portions small.

I agree with the other mom, you have to make the choice to do this for yourself! Noone can lose the weight but you! It definitely isn't easy but it is all up to you! Walk for at least thirty minutes a day, start buying healthy snacks (they don't have to be the expensive ones), cook with low fat butter, and drain all the fat from ground beef if you use that!
When I first had my son, we didn't have the money for a gym membership, so I would take my son to my moms and go running with my dad, and at night after my husband got home from work, I would run around our block as much as possible. I watch what I eat and drink a lot of water, and nine months later, I have lost the 47 pounds I gained with him and an additional 12 pounds, so it is definitely possible to lose weight without all the fancy stuff.
You can do this! Just make the decision for yourself and know that you can do it!!!!

It’s obvious you are jealous of your sister… I am too! So use that passion to loose the weight! Either you choose to give up because of this reason or another or you choose to get thin! All you need is a block to walk around (or a pool to swim in, how lucky is that), a floor to do sit-ups, push-ups, and stretches on, and some fruits, vegetables, lean meets, and whole grains to eat. Done!
