A wonderful Christian book is "Bringing Up Boys" by James Dobsin. It really looks at all the outside influences impacting our boys and emphasizes the importance of family, etc.

I tried to read some of those books and I found them very repetitious. Pretty much what they said it that boys communicate better when I am doing something with them like playing catch. that is when they will talk.
Other than that I think you practice the same principles as with any child. My husband is great in that area too since he roughhouses with our son but he does the same favor for our daughter. I think setting limits and clear comunication is what I need with any sex child...maybe I have attention deficit disorder..they seemed to be making too much out of too little
