Rash with Swim Diaper

My son has been getting red spots in the diaper area, the spots are the size of a dot with some of them looking like pimples, the other day he had a rash on his side where the elastic of the swim diaper was, this one looked exactly like the side of the swim diaper. The little red dots seem to go away by morning time, but the rash on his side stayed for a few days. Anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it?

What can I do next?

Hello, I don't know if it will work, but, maybe you could try putting a coating of petroleum jelly on him where the Little Swimmers are. Or even Desitin.
Just a thought.
Good luck with your precious little boy.

My daughter has a similar problem with pimples on her bottom. The doctors say it is eczema, which I don't really agree with. But after trying a few different things we now just use an antibacterial ointment. Erythromycin sp? and triamcinolone acetonide cream have both been effective. Those are prescriptions, you can try neosporin first to see if that takes care of it.
Not sure if this is the same thing but felt compelled to write to you. We were using exzema creams on her for a while but it did nothing for her and she ended up getting some really painful boils on her bottom and legs. Don't want your child to go through that if it is the same thing. This started for my daughter when she began wearing a night time pull-up.

Hello, this may not be a direct answer to your question but I recently took my toddler in to the doctor because she had a growing rash that started in her armpit. The doctor called it "summer skin" which is a kind way of saying that with all the sweat and pool activity, she has pick up an infection. He recommended two over the counters - Lotrimin (an anti fungal) and 1% cortizone, both applied two times a day. The rash was stunted and gone within 5 days. One or both might work for you too!

Good luck!
