We are going to be doing a raffle soon for a fund raising event and I was just wondering what some of the best raffle items are that you have seen?
I've seen 'money trees' as raffles lately. They make a 'money tree' worth $100. They sell raffle tickets for $1/ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. They look really cute and it's not a lot to ask to buy a ticket with a chance at $100. People use the styrafoam topiary trees as a base.
Other raffles I've seen are liquor baskets, hotel stays, dinner and a movie basket....

You can do a 50/50 raffle. This is where you have a pot that everyone puts money into. You hand out tickets and at the end of the night you pick one ticket and the winner gets half the pot and your cause gets the other half. This is usually a pretty good one and most ppl want to do it.

Gift cards are always a hit!
I would encourage jewelry, bath and body products, candles and gift certificates from restaurants. Most companies, especially small, locally owned stores will be willing to help.
One soroity auctioned off some brand new cars. Other ideas would be flat screened tvs.

Our non-profit group holds silent auctions for fundraising. Items: hotel stays, sign memorabilia, gift baskets, etc.

Since I don't know who it's for it's a bit tougher......parking spaces are ALWAYS a hit at schools and even churches. I've even seen prime seats raffled. Our High School raffled off gasoline cards that were donated this year from the Sports Medicine Group and last year were donated by a realtor. One was for $1,000 and one for $750. The band even raffled off a CAR donated by a local dealer. Depending on who this raffle is for - get companies that would benefit from your "personnel" (that's why we asked the sports medicine group - all the athletes from the high school go there when injured) to donate something.
