When did you start to feel that extremely tired pregnant feeling? Did it mostly affect you at night at first or where you tired all day. It has been a while, I can't seem to recall. My friend is worried that she does not feel as tired as she should, I just can't remember!!!

What can I do next?

Not everyone is going to be really tired during their pregnancy. I was always so tired but I had gestational diabetes.

I was very tired with my first. I remember going to lunch with my boss and almost falling asleep in the middle and going to bed by 7 each night when I was very early pregnant. With my second, I didn't have time to feel that tired or if I did, I was too busy to recognize it. I think it depends on the pregnancy.

Some people don't feel tired, some are exhausted. Some are sick the whole time, some people don't even know they are pregnant. Everyone is different. I was tired the first 12 weeks and the last three months with my last pregnancy. I also had a toddler at the time so I was just plain worn out. My first pregnancy I just went to bed earlier so I didnt' feel the need to nap all the time, but there were days when I could and would take a three hour nap. It seems like when you are pregnant you really just need a couple more hours of sleep each night. Or day if you can take a nap.

There are lots of reasons why some women feel more tired than others. I think I was more tired toward the end of my pregnancy. But stress and other factors play a part in how tired you are. Also towards the end you have more of a challenge with sleeping which factors into why you are so tired.

I was 37 when I was pregnant & working full time. I felt incredibly good during my pregnancy. Even others around me were amazed by how good I felt and how much energy I had during the day. Later in my pregnancy I would easily fall asleep on the sofa watching TV by 8:30 p.m., but did well all day long. My last trimester, I did not sleep as well, so I am sure that's when I got more tired...but really the last couple of weeks before my son was born were the worst. I stopped working at 38 weeks. I would find myself so tired commuting to and from work that I thought I would fall asleep driving on the Eisenhower. So much for listening to classical music and all the nice stuff for my unborn baby. I played LOUD music, opened the windows...whatever it took. I was relieved at 38 weeks to get to stay home. Still, I was soooo busy that week...putting the finishing touches on the nursery & getting ready. I just had to stop & take a lot of breaks. I am guessing that everybody is really different. I never had gestational diabetes, but I had met with a nutritionist & I had been eating extremely healthy the entire time. That probably helped a lot too.

I don't remember being really tired at first, it was later on. My first symptom was always having to get up in the night to pee. I knew I was pregnant with my last 3 days after ovulation, then the next was breast tenderness. The point is everyone is different and being tired or not being tired is not a cause for alarm. Hope she has an awesome pregnancy.
