Question About Bachelorette Party

Why don't you try pampering and make-overs? Each guest gets a tiara and go for manicures, pedicures, hair, and make-up. You could even try on fancy clothes at a shop someplace.

My sisters planned for dinner at our house that they made - I don't remember what it was, but I remember it was very good, and we had wine with dinner - opened some gifts, and then went to a comedy club (much drinking). After that, we went to some bar that had a "hot and hairy legs" contest or something and then drove through White Castle's on the way home.

I thought it was a lot of fun - but I really didn't care what we did, was just happy to be spending time with my sisters and my bridesmaids/best friends.

I planned my sisters party and she is very low key - doesn't drink or anything. So what we did was go to a Pottery Place. We got our own room and were able to take snacks/drinks. Everyone can pick out whatever they want to paint (so the expense there depends on what each lady picks out herself) It was fun! Then we just came back to my house and we are game lovers so we played board games. Very low- key - you may be looking for something a little more upbeat but thought I'd give you a suggestion.
A winery may be fun too...get a few bottles of wine w/some cheese/crackers and again you could play some card games or something there.

I was pregnant for mine. So we definately didn't want th ebar hopping stripper thing. We went to victory field for a baseball game and then went to a wine bar after so that everyone could just have a nice relaxing intimate evening. You could also just do the symphony on the prarie thing. ( i think that's what it's called!) bring some wine and light snacks and enjoy a summer evening and outdoor concert. Good Luck!!

For my bachelorette party I don't drink but my friends do and I wanted to do something fun. I had my friends and wedding party go bowling and the bowling place gave me a pin and everyone signed. Everyone had a blast and it was good clean fun with some drinking.

I think a cocktail party is a great idea! I would send out the invitations and say "semi formal" and then ask a few friends of yours if they'd be willing to dress in black slacks and a button down white dress shirt and serve appetizers and drinks. You could ask all of the girls to donate what they are able to for champagne and food and have a date you would like them to send their RSVP/donations by so you have an idea of what you can swing to spend. If you know of anyone who plays the piano and you are able to get ahold of a keyboard, that would be fun to have them play in the background.

WHen we had mine a few years ago, we started out at a nice restaurant and then the comedy club. And for those who wanteed to, we headed to Detroit for the casinos. It was a lot of fun and wasnt full of strippers or bars.

Just an idea- we are doing my friend's bachelorette party at a dinner theatre. I am just too tired of the limo and frat-boy bar thing and it is SO expensive. Another idea is a show at a theatre downtown.

I attended a Pole Party a year a go and it was a blast. The instructor bought the pole (and set up right in the living room) name tags for all the guest to pick out our stage names, hats, boas, etc. The host had one male friend to bar tend, one friend to provide messages, and a young women who did henna tattoing?spelling.

The host was able to repay her friends via tips provided from the guest.

Similar situation (years back) for a friend of mine. You could have a "classy" coctail party for all the girls you plan to invite, letting your sister have time to visit with them all, and open gifts etc. Then at the end of the evening you could invite the ladies to "go out". That way you have fed them and kept your budget in line, but still offer a time for those who truely want to party, and the others that don't arent' obligated to go. Good luck!

I went to one that was a wine tasting at a winery/vineyard. It was quite nice and actually not nearly as expensive as you might think. Or some spa/salons will let guests bring in their own wine and food while every one gets manicures. Good luck!

You could do a wine/cheese tasting event. I have planned a bunch of parties and do it on the side as a business. I have found with the right atmosphere and music, you could do this at home or at a wine shop or at a restaurant...Sounds like she likes elegant so she may like this...Let me know if you need help!

When I got married we involved a lot more people than just the wedding party so we could get a limo and not have to have everyone paying a ton. We went to the comedy club in town and went to a dance club. I was nice, were were able to start our night with some good laughs and dance the night away and not have to worry about getting home safe.

What about just a fancy dressed cocktail party at someones home? You could have all the ladies dress up and just serve snack foods and martinis or something. Or you could have a bar with fancy drinks and fancy glasses. Just a thought good luck!

We first met for snacks and gifts then went to a comedy club in Cleveland and had a nice dinner after. It certainly wasn't a "drink fest" but we had hired transportation so all could enjoy. Good luck with the planning. My Matron of Honor looked high and low for something classy and not just cheesy.

My best friend isn't the bar hopping stripper girl either. We went to a fancy restaurant that normally none of us would go to. Had food and drinks and she opened presents. Lingerie of course!! Her mom and I provided appetizers and everyone else had to buy their own drinks and a meal if they wanted one. On the invites we put that appetizers would be provided. We had a blast. She had her bride crown on and everything. There were local bars so if anyone wanted to go out afterward they could but didn't have too.

Her mother in law also did a party thing with her and all the girlfriends at a local tea place that was beautiful.

what i did for my sis in laws bachelorette party is we all went out for dinner, than to the comedy club. than after that we went out to the bar. I did dinner and comedy club so everyone can partcipate moms gmas younger sisters ect.ect. every1 had an awesome time

You could do a scavenger hunt - make a list of things that everyone needs to find, break up into groups of 2-3 and then send everyone out with cameras to take pictures of them finding each things on the list. Since your sister is not a bar hopper make things on the list like a remote statue or they have to buy some silly thing at wal*mart. Then have a planned meeting place where everyone comes at a certain time and see which group found the most things in the given time limit. Then you can go on to dinner or even go somewhere like dave-n-busters or gameworks.

How about a Spa day, maybe you can check with day spas for packages that may be budget friendly, and follow it with a Girls night out on the town, maybe at a Wine or Piano bar.
I don't know where you live but you can drive to a big city around you (Chicago or New York) and make it a day/night on the town, get 2 or 3 rooms for all of you to share and find out what type of activities that city has to offer; many that may be free like museums and such.

You can do a simple wine and cheese party. I am not sure if you have them in you area or not but small stores and organic food stores will some times carry wine from local vinyards at a good price and you can all bring a cheese and a bottle, crackers, maybe do a wine glass exchange. If not you can make it an Arbor mist night LOL.

There is a great piano bar in Indianapolis, that we went to for my sisters bachlorette party 2 summers ago. It's called "Howl at the Moon" They have a website. It was ALOT of fun. It is a bar, but there were many other bachlorette parties there, so it turned out to be a lot of fun. WE enjoyed the night a lot!

M. - You'd have to call; but my girlfriend arranged a bachelorette party for another friend at Bar Louie in Newport. It was a pretty good deal ... we all paid a set amount ($40/person ... but I'm not sure if that depends on the attendence #) and you got, all the drinks you could drink in the two-hour time frame; a champagne toast and four huge appetizers to eat. It was a pretty good deal. Have fun! :0)

I have two suggestions for you. One would be do a wine tasting. Have everyone chip in for a limo and go to various wineries and end at one that serves dinner. A wine tasting usually costs $5 bucks per winery and you taste, 5 to 7 wines. Then end at a winery in a restuarant or near a restuarant and have dinner. Fun and classy.
Second, have a slummer party. Check at state parks for cabin rentals, I know in Hocking Hills they have ones with hot tubs and such. Bring movies, snacks, drinks and games and have fun.

I got married in 07 and its soo hard to find something fun to do, and not spend a fortune. But heres one idea I wish I would've done. Book a decent size room at a hotel with a bar, then book an adult toy party. true romance, or slumberparties.com. Some things are a little "risky" but its nothing vulgar, and its a bachlorette party after all!! Have everyone bring some snacks, maybe even a "batch" of their favorite mixed drinks to share, then enjoy a fun party, and hit a bar within the hotel or within walking distance then everyone can relax, not worry about driving or paying for a limo or a cab!! Then crash safely in the room till everyone is sober. With enough people to chip in it shouldn't cost that much per person! Good luck and have fun :)
