What Did You Do (Or Didn't You Do) for YOUR Bachelorette Party?
Just out of curiosity coming from my other question, what did YOU do for your bachelorette party?
What did your fiance do for his bachelor party?
If you didn't have one, and he didn't either, why not?
Have you been to a particularly memorable bachelorette party? What happened?
So What Happened?™
Dawn, the joint party is my thought EXACTLY. The guys can go fishing or whatever for a few hours, us ladies can get mani-pedi's, then all meet up for a late dinner and/or dancing. That to ME would be perfect ;)

We kept it low key and rated G:-) Just had gifts and yummy food.
My hubby's bachelor party was also rated G. He went out to dinner with the male family & friends. We're not into the stripper thing, and neither of us did that. It was a lot of fun and respectful of each other.

I had a bachelor party. It was hosted by my best man. It was like a bridal shower of years ago. The theme was "tools a husband needs."
I received screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, electric saw, electric drill, Ice cream maker (hand cranked), dish washing soap (bad joke), etc.
No x-rated stuff. We had non-alcoholic drinks and homemade ice cream. Everyone had a lot of fun.
My wife had a shower with lingerie (sp?). Big mistake. She should have had an appliance theme or a kitchen wares theme. BUT hormones overruled logic. Tis life.
Good luck to you and yours.

I think both bachelor and/or "orette" parties have gotten so out of hand and over the top, that some have actually STOPPED the wedding or made a very bad start to a marriage.
Male or female strippers? NO
Getting so drunk you get stupid with the extra added attraction of a DUI, FIGHT, throwing up (in public or private) and a hangover that won't quit? NO
Great brunch, lunch, dinner or weekend away in the city or wine country or camping trip with your best friends? YES
Blessings......

My friend hosted what I thought was going to be a girls get together at her parents house (we were all just out of college) have some beverages, open some girly gifts. Then she walked in with this flower arrangement full of dollar bills. I was so embarassed when this male dancer popped out from the side of their house. I mean, my cousins, my sister- everyone was just laughing so hard. They all knew what was going on and just wanted to see me squirm.
I love this friend dearly and I still laugh with her about it to this day!
My husband did a boys night out a month prior to our wedding and then the day before he went kyaking with all the groomsmen:)

Well, after the way your fiance acted about your surprise shower, I'm not surprised that you are worrying about this.
Here's my suggestion to you. Have a joint bachorette/bachelor party. Tell him since he was a butt to you about the shower, you will have a joint party and then if there's something he doesn't like, he can be a butt to people OTHER than you.
Music, drinks, games, lots of fun with your friends. That's what my husband I did. We were a lot younger than you guys, so our party was not quiet, but if I were you, I'd make it very loud - and NO CHILDREN.

Me - We rented a bus and went to four or five bars and drank. I think there were around 30 of us - my mom and her friends included. We did not do any strip club - not that I wouldn't have done it - they were too far away!!! We then ended up at a girlfriends house where some of us spent the night.
Hubby did the same thing as we did but was home earlier than I had expected so a bunch of people ended up hanging out at our house.
I do like the idea of a joint party!

i went out for dinner, dessert, drinks, and dancing with a small group of friends. they bought me lots of drinks. ;) we ended up at a club that had a piano bar on one stage. i ended up on stage singing with the performers and then later spanking a total stranger just because he had a cute butt. i crawled into bed at a decent hour and required eggs the next morning. but man was it fun! hubby did a simple guys night out with drinks at clubs.

My friends and I drove up to Traverse City, MI and rented a condo at the resort for the weekend. We just hung out and played stupid games on Friday night, but it was fun. Then on Saturday we got spa treatments, went on a wine tasting tour, had a nice dinner out, then went to a couple of bars. It was a really great weekend. My friend ended up doing a similar weekend for hers, same city, winery tour, dinner out and bars, but we mixed it up and went to different places and stayed in a different hotel. Several of my other friends have come out to Chicago to stay with me and we've had a girls weekend, and then on Sat night we've gone out to Excalibur night club where they host a huge bachelorette party, with games, dancing, drinks, and male entertainment. When it came my turn though, we had already done this 3 times, so I opted for the low key winery tour weekend.
My husband had his party at his brother's house. They invited a bunch of guys and played poker, and watched a boxing fight that was on that night. I don't think they had a stripper, but I know they did hire topless girls to serve beer. I know, I know. But really, it was harmless. And honestly it was more for the other guys at the party, as my husband could care less if there was a stripper. He's been to other bachelor parties that were simply golf outings, or poker night. Some of my guy friends have gone all out and done weekends in Las Vegas.
