Preschools in Magnolia/Woodlands

I'm wondering if anyone has any good (or bad) experiences with preschools in Magnolia or the back of the Woodlands. Can you recommend any? I live near 1488 & 2978 intersection and was looking for something relatively close. I'm not looking for full time, just a 2-3 day a week program for my soon to be 4 year old son. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My daughter goes to Klein Weekday Ministries @ Klein United Methodist Church, located @ 2920 & Kykendahl. I love it, the teachers are great & there are lots of activities. You can go to there website to get more info - www.kleinweekday.com

Good Luck.

Dear L.,

I can tell you where not to go! Kids Club, just past 2978, going east on 1488. I used to work there and kids don't come out like they go in. Sick, sick, all the time. The staff leaves alot to be desired. The director is great but is over ruled by the owmer and her daughter that are there every day. There is a place off Hones-Egypt, I'll get the name and reply again. Just don't go to the Kids Club

Hi L.,

I also live near the intersection of 1488 & 2978. My daughter goes the Little Lambs of Grace off of 2978 (before you get to Woodlands Pkwy). She absolutely LOVES it. They are building a new facility for the preschool behind the church that should be completed by September 2008. The preschool hours are 9am-3pm, but they also offer before & after care. I toured several facilities before deciding on one that best fit our needs. I would recommend you tour the facilities that you might be interested in; you are the only one that knows which one will be the best fit.

I've also heard good things about Sherwood Academy (on Tamina Rd)...I didn't choose them because their hours didn't work the best for us.

Hope that helps!

Oh girl. You need to check into Wildwood Wonder Years on 149. My daughter went there and when she started Kinergarten this year they were shocked with how much she already knew. They are so GREAT over there. You would need to talk to Denise and tell her Shyanne's mommy S. told you to call. They have limited space so call quick. They go to school Tues, Wed, Thrs from 8:30-2:00. They have everything from fundraisers to parents day like regular schools.

There number is ###-###-####
Their enrollment is $100.00
Cirriculum is $75.00 (Abecca)
The tuition is $240.00 a month or $2160.00 paid in full

Sonkids Christian Preschool at Faith Community Church on Research Forest in the Woodlands is fantastic! Their number is ###-###-####. Very loving staff and my kids were more than prepared for Kindergarten. You could take Woodlands Parkway, to Kuykendahl (go left) to Research Forest.

Hi! I live at the back of the Woodlands as well. We can see Old Egypt Lane from out backyard in the winter when the trees lose some of their leaves. My daughter is 5 and she goes to Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood off of Spring Cypress and Klein Church Road. They are absolutely fabulous and their elementary school is Blue Ribbon School. We did try a preschool here in the Woodlands, but I can't recommend it...lots of issues with the director and staff. There doesn't seem to be many choices here at the back, and I believe that Trinity is worth the 16 mile drive (from my driveway to the school) is well worth it. We have even considered selling our house and moving closer to the school, it is so fabulous. Hope that you will find something that you will both love for preschool.

I did plenty of reserch before I chose a mother's day out/preschool fpr my child, and I chose the Sonshine Club/Lighthouse on FM 149. The school is christian based and the staff is wonderful! My daughter is 3 and goes on T & Th from 8:30 -1:30....just long enough for the both of us! I cried like a baby for the first month, but they handled me and her very well! I believe tution is $150 a month for 2 days a week! Good lUck!

I highly recommend Stargate Early Childhood Center, 1011 Honea Egypt Rd, Magnolia 77354, ###-###-####. I had my 2 boys there while I was working full time over the last year. The Director and Staff there are really terrific. My boys loved going there, as opposed to when they were going to the Academy on 1488. My littlest guy is very attached to me, so his reaction which was SO POSITIVE to Stargate was very telling. The environment is very bright and child friendly, the children are happy and learning, and they don't leave the center hungry (that was a huge issue I had at the other place).

Although I am no longer working FT, I still use Stargate on a drop-in basis. I WILL NOT TAKE MY BOYS ANYWHERE ELSE!! I really can't say enough positive things about Stargate, or how much my boys really loved it. Please email me if you have any questions. Good luck in your search!
