I just took a home peg. test and it was posative. I have no health insurance and have NO idea how I am going to pay for prenatal care or the birth of the child. I am a stay at home mom who has a husband that work really hard to make things work. I have not talked to my husband that I might be pregnant because I have no idea how he is going to react. It took us Two and a half years of fertility to get pregnant with my 16 month old daughter and now out of nowhere I get pregnant with no fertility. My husband and I agreed that we would not to fertility again but if we got pregnant on our own we would be ok with that too but niether one of us wanted another child so soon and especially while going through a tough financial time. We are also in the process of selling our house in a short sale and will be renting until I can work again and we can build up our saving again. Number one how am I going to get prenatal care and two how am I going to break the news to my husband? I could really use some advise and some encouraging words maybe of someone who has gone through the same thing. Thank you so much
Contact your local dept of children and families or a social worker. Medicaid is there for people who need it. Not sure how it works in NJ, but in CT its on a sliding scaled based on your income. There is coverage for EVERYBODY. If you are low-income things will be covered 100%.

God sent you this blessing because he has plans for your family. Look you did not use fertility and got pregnant so that alone is a miracle. You need to take a deep breath and tell your hubby about this. We have a saying in Spanish that says something like this: God makes things tight, but he does not choke us. You can look into getting medicaid and if you don't qualify for that then you will be directed to Prenatal Chip. Look into this and congratulations. Take care and breathe, it will be okay!
NJ provides medicaid for pregnant women. It is health insurance for pregnant women and it pays for everything. It pays for the prenatal care, vitamins, blood work, ultrasounds, labor and delivery and it covers you for 60 days after you give birth. What you do is you find a pregnancy clinic. Usually, hospitals have these, or go to your countys health clinic (if you dont know where to find one, call WIC and they will tell you where to go). What they will do is give you a pregnancy test and if its positive, then they will type up a letter confirming your pregnancy and when your due date is. Then, you can either take that letter to your countys social services center and they will set you up with health insurance there, or the clinic will do it for you. It is really simple. I live in NJ and got health insurance through the state with my first pregnancy. The insurance covers everything (even the epidural if you want one) and my son was eligible for NJ family care insurance so the insurance also covered his hopsital bills when he was born). I would definitely call your local health department or free clinic, they could direct you to the help you need. I would also tell your hubby soon, he might be upset that you didnt tell him sooner. You may not be religious but just remember this; God never gives you more than you can handle. Hang in there M..
Planned Parenthood might be an option. They have a large network of resources and if they cannot offer assistance may be able to put you in contact with another agency that can.

Contact the state health insurance Most if not all I believe states will not let a pregnant woman go without insurance, You may have to pay a premium if you make an extensive amount of $$ but you may not. Call now, their may still be the typical 3 month waiting period.
Medicaid..........go to your local health department and get signed up. Depending on your families circumstances you may qualify for WIC and food stamps. Things will all sort out.
