Hi there,

I was sick my entire pregnancy!!! I couldn't eat anything, ride in a car, stand up, walk around... It was really bad!!! I tired everything you could think to try and make myself feel better... Even pills from the doctor didn't work...

Then one glorious day me sister-in-law bought me some ginger mints from a whole foods store. When I tell you that my sickness came down 95%...I felt so much better. You might want to try them.

Hello G.,
Congrats on the new baby....
For nausea, I drank Ensures...I would chug one in the middle of the night so that I did not wake up ill in the morning. I drank them through the day if I felt hungry. It was SO helpful, took two minutes and then I was out again.

Your size is normal. I started showing before I knew I was pregnant...amazing huh? Seriously, I thought something was up, but really did not pay attention (by baby was 6 months at the time) and then in a week found out I was pregnant. Relax and enjoy this bundle on the way.

For morning sickness try taking your prenatal vit. at night.
Also keep your tummy a little full w/ small snacks.
Double check with your docotor or the nurse at your OB office but....Try the sea-sickness wrist bands-- You wear them all day/ night they go on your wrist and have small little plastic nobs on them that put pressure on your wrist's pulse point and REALLY work-- sounds weird but it works! They carry them at major drug chains-- I got mine at WALGREENS. I forget their name but they are for motion sickness-- wrist bands.

It is TOTALLY normal for the size of your tummy w/your second child. Everyone i know that has 2 children or more has Always shown earlier than they did w/their 1st. Saltine crackers really help and sprite does too. I've heard of ginger as well for the morning sickness. I hope it passes soon. Some people have it longer than others and some are lucky enough not to have it at all. I had it until i was about 6 months preg w/both pregnancies. Gotta love it, lol.

I had the same thing with my second. I felt HUGE very fast, but then it gradually slowed. I was told that a "balloon" that was once blown up will never get back to its original size, so it stretches with fluid faster the second time. It's normal.

I also had the nausea worse the second time. I would chew up a cracker and then hold it in my mouth debating on swallowing it or just spitting it out. Try fresh apple slices or (this is unusual, but won't hurt you) raw potato slices. It also helps with heartburn/indigestion that usually accompanies the nausea (at 2 AM no doubt).

It will pass but if it persists, ask your doctor for an anti nausea prescription that is safe for pregnancy.

Hope this helps,
P. <><

Oh yes the tummy isn't it funny how your first pregnancy you couldn't wait to show and the second pregnancy not so much :)! I had morning sickness almost my whole pregnancy and not relief. Then my friend got pregnant this year and her doctor gave her a pill. It is used for cancer patients and seems to help. It did not cure her, but she did feel better. I would ask your OBGYN for it sorry I cannot remember the name. Also try sipping on a Sprite it seemed to help me. Congrats!

I've gotten bigger earlier with each successive pregnancy and have known many other mommas for whom the same was true. Totally normal! :)

For morning sickness, try to eat something every two hours. Having something in your tummy will help, especially if it's a protein. I also tried Preggie Pops, which you can find online or at Motherhood or Trimesters, the maternity clothing shops. They didn't work for me, but I've heard other have had good luck for them. If your m/s is severe, your doctor may be willing to prescribe an anti-nausea medication; I also have Emetrol, anti-nausea other the counter med, on my list of medications safe to take during pregnancy.

I hope you feel better soon! It usually lets up after the first trimester.

I just had my second in April. I think I had to pull out the maternity pants when I saw the 2nd pink line! It is perfectly normal to get bigger right away. You'll even out later. Your stomach muscles just aren't as strong since the 1st baby. People thought I was having twins, but only one...and she was normal size (7 lb 15 oz). I liked to munch on graham crackers. I usually had some sitting by my bed and I ate a few bites before I even got out of bed. That helped me with the naseau. My friend got one of those sea-sickness bracelets. I never tried it, but she liked it! Good luck and congrats!!!

I would ask your OB if you may be having twins - double the fun! Food for thought. My sister had twins and she went through the same thing that you are!

Yup, totally normal! I had the same thing happen to me. Try asking the doc for Zofran for the nausea.

I just had my second in April. That seemed to be about the time I panicked and went out to by smaller maternity clothes. My belly was getting big but the rest of me wasn't. My waist line expanded a whole lot quicker with the second one. I must say though the weight is coming off a lot better this time around. Of course I'm chasing a 2 year old and working full time with a new baby.
I gained about the same amount of weight with both kids. Definitely did start showing a lot sooner the second time around.

Good Luck.
I drank a lot of Sprite, and ate a whole lotta crakers, until about my 4th month. Hopefully it will pass very soon for you.
Good luck!
