Pregnancy Induced Tendonitis?

I'm not sure if i am pregnant, it's still too soon to take a test. But for the past 2 days, i have been having tingly sore breasts, some cramping, and today my wrist started to hurt badly for no reason. When i mentioned it to my mom, the first thing she said was, "you're pregnant". She told me she had the same thing when she was pregnant with me. Something about the hormones?? Anyone else had this or have heard of this??

What can I do next?

I always knew I was pregnant about a week after conception because a felt a hint/tingle of my carpal tunnel (pregnancy induced) start!

J.,
I have heard of it. I didn't have it, although I did get chiropractic treatments throughout my pregnancy. It helped immensely & I avoided most of the sore lower back/ wrist issues that are so common. My understanding is that it is from a pinched nerve and that is why the chiropractic can help. I might be mistaken though & just have gotten lucky. But it might be worth asking.

This happened to me, I think it's pretty common...

pregnancy induced tendonitis is very common, especially in the wrists. However, it usually starts a little further down the road than this early. I guess you'll just have to wait until you can take a test, good luck!

I think also you may be pregnant. I had the worst worst worst tendinitus throughout my pregnancy and into Breastfeeding for 8 months. It felt like someone was breaking my wrist off. My ankles also killed. It was painful but bearable. It went away after I stopped breastfeeding but the first 5 months after baby was born was the worst. I couldn't even lift baby out of the crib. So your mom might be right. But it does seem early.

Yes I have heard of it and it also happened to me but I had elbow pain and it lasted for months!!! I was already pregnant though so it wasn't a pregnancy symptom for me but I believe pregnancy caused the elbow pain. It went away on its own after several months.

I am not sure about tendonitis, but I will say that as soon as I got pregnant my mild back injury got incredibly irritated and painful, and it was very bad for 4 months. My doctor said that our bodies start changing immediately and even though i didn't yet have added weight to strain my back, there are so many other factors involved. So . . . it is possible. Good luck taking the actual pregnancy test and finding out for sure :) Best wishes however it turns out :) K.

I had horrible pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel in both wrists from about 15 weeks until about a month after delivery. It was very painful, I would lose feeling in my hands, and had to wear wrist braces. It's all related to hormones. My Dr. said there was nothing we could do while I was pregnant but if it persisted well after delivery, I could see a surgeon. I waited it out and have had no return symptoms for over a year.
My guess is that you are pregnant as well, like other posters. Good luck!!

I got really bad wrist pain right after I delivered my baby. It really hurt to turn a doorknob, hold the baby etc. so I went to a hand surgeon. They told me it was De Quervains tendonitis and gave me a cortisone injection. It went away in a day and never came back. I know you're just newly pregnant but who knows, maybe it's the same thing?
