I'm looking for suggestions for preschools in Hollywood 90068--or nearby Studio City. How soon would you get on a waiting list?

My daughter goes to the Hollywood School house. I am also in 90068. In the Dell. The school goes through 8th grade. It is lovely. My youngest will start there next year and my oldest will move on to kinder at HSH. Here's their website.

Check out your local synagogue or church - they usually have preschools and are not as expensive as some of the other private schools. California State also has some sort of website you can check out (I can't remember what it is) that gives you guidelines for picking a preschool and can give you lists of certified preschools in your area.

Good luck.

I can't give you any suggestions for preschools in the areas you're looking for, but what I can tell you is that I put our daughter on the waiting list for a co-op preschool in Encino when she was 6 months old. At the time, there were 8 other kids her age already on the list. I recommend getting on the wl soon.

I live in Studio City as well. Start applying NOW! I started when my daughter was 5 months old and was told that I was a little late. A lot of the desireable preschools have had applications in when the child was delivered. The prioirity always goes to siblings first, and then children who are in the toddler / transitions programs next, and then the date of applications last. You are never too early once you have a birth date for your child. I applied to Maggy Haves, TSONS (The Sherman Oaks Nursery School). But I toured about 7 altogether. You should get a list, call them for a tour, and once you see the schools, get the application in as soon as possible. It can be a frustrating experience!

Check out Neighborhood School on Riverside drive in Studio City / Valley Village area. Small developmental preschool - my children went there and it was a good fit for us.
