I am trying to think of something practical for my 3rd boy who is turning 1. The boys have enough toys/clothes/etc. What do I tell people he wants or needs that is useful? Any ideas would be great!

What can I do next?

i would look around at favorite things and see if anything needs replacement...especially if it was a hand me down. my 2nd daughter gets all hand me down clothes, shoes etc...it is nice to buy her a few new things that were only hers. i have been asking people to buy our kids items for their rooms: rugs, toybox, bean bag chair, letters/pictures for their walls etc. i also like the idea of gift cards to the zoo, museums, restaurants etc. or how about a new sleeping bag or rain gear??

Hi!
We had the same talk this weekend (our 3rd is turning 1 in May), we decided to tell people clothes (as most of ours are from her siblings), bath toys (as they often get "yucky" after while) and outdoor things (bubbles, balls, chalk, etc). Good luck and hope it helps!!

ours just turned two...and we have the same issue...

I was literally putting him in boots until saturday, and apparently I told more than one person he needed shoes...as now he has 3 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs sandels and one pair of swimming shoes...I am very happy with the shoe turn out...

I also told people he needed a swimsuit and swim shoes of his own...

and he also got some bristol blocks (the ones with the millions of tiny pegs) he really likes those, they stick together easier than the legos for the younger ones...

My boys have so much stuff (and their birthdays and Christmas are all in a 3 month span) so when people ask what they need we just tell them to make a donation to their 529 plans. Usually they'll get something small like a book and a check for the 529.
