Positive Pregnancy Test Then Possible Period Next Day

I thought I was supposed to start my period the beginning of the month. I took a test on the 9th and 11th both negative. On the 16th I took one and it was positive but faint. Took another later that night, same result. The next day the 17th middle of the day I started to bleed seeming like I'm starting my period. I'm 25 never had a child. I don't have anyone to talk to or tell. I've seen many of other ladies experience the same thing and it be a possible chemical pregnancy. I seen the best was to make a doctors appointment. When should I do that? When I'm still bleeding or should I wait until after?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went to the ER as planned parenthood advised once they confirmed I was indeed pregnant. Over these past 4 days I had 3 blood test and unfortunately I had a miscarriage and am no longer pregnant. Thank you everyone for your help nd knowledge. I will remember everything if we decide to try again or not.

I'm sorry you're having these confusing symptoms and that you have no one to talk to. There are a lot of reasons for bleeding, and some of it can occur during pregnancy. Sometimes it means something, sometimes it doesn't.

Do you have a doctor? You can see either your primary care physician or a gynecologist for this. If you don't have one, is there a Planned Parenthood near you? If you can't find one, call the national Planned Parenthood number (1-800-230-PLAN) for the name of a reputable clinic near you. Do not be confused by similar sounding names on websites or on clinic doors (things like "problem pregnancy" or "unplanned pregnancy") - many of them have a political agenda and don't even have doctors on staff. You want objective medical advice from a physician (MD), a physician assistant (PA) or a nurse practitioner (NP).

Make some notes now about key dates: last regular period, when bleeding started, when you had sexual activity (even if it was in the month before your last regular period). Have that paper with you when you're on the phone or in the office.

Make the call now and get some advice. Good luck.

Call your local Planned Parenthood and see a doctor soon as you can.
I can't tell if this was just a late period or a miscarriage or even if you're pregnant (some women bleed a bit even while pregnant) - so see a doctor and find out what's going on.
A lot of things can affect your cycle besides pregnancy.
Unless things have changed a lot since I used them, it's best to do a home pregnancy test first thing in the morning - the concentration of hormones in urine is highest first thing in the morning so the test will be most accurate at that time.
I'm not sure if you are trying to conceive or not but if this was a close call or a scare you need to make sure you have a reliable birth control in place before having anymore sex until you are ready to have a baby and raise your family.

Congratulations you are pregnant. The pregnancy test works by detecting a hormone that is only present when pregnant, with the very, very rare exception of a chemical pregnanc, which is extremely unlikely. You need prenatal vitamins immediately. Find a clinic you can go to for care.

Also, some woman have break through bleeding and have normal pregnancies but some woman do in fact miscarry. It is very important for you to know if this is a miscarriage. I have negative blood and my husband has positive blood. This required me to have a rhogram shot to protect future pregnancies when I miscarried my first child.

Best of luck.

A phone call is free. Call your doctor's office and speak to the nurse. The nurse will ask you a series of questions to help you determine what you next step is.

The last time I seen a doctor had to of been over 2 years ago. It was just at a community Health Center. I have no health insurance as I can't afford it. I don't know of any planned parenthoods in my town so I will give that number a call. It's been about 5 weeks since my last period. So to have a positive result then bleeding the next day is very confusing. We weren't trying for a child but we sure will be delighted to have one.

All three of my children I had my period for the first trimester of pregnancy. Which all three were fine. But for sure make a appointment with your doctor. To make sure you know you are physically good and mentally, just to know for sure.
