I am looking for playdates for my 2.8 year old son and my 5 year old son. We know nobody here and there seems to be nobody at home during the day where we live.

I was going to ask where you live but I see it now above. It was not in your question though. We live in Lake Villa east of you. I signed my daughter up for gymnastics and they have a spot open. It is in Lindenhurst at Ultimate too. It is all for little ones the spot we signed up for starts Tuesday and is at 1:00. The place looked really cool and I bet if you called you could come check it out at that time for free and see if you like it. I also can tell you we hibernate during the winter like bears here. On a warm day all the kids should be out. Just a few more months and the mom's will me out front and then comes the summer and the volume outside should lift to annoying.

I have a three yr old girl. I am a stay-at-home mom, most of the time. My best advice to be involved in here is all of the classes that are available with the park district. You can get one of their books at the public library. It seems to be what most people do in the winter here. When the weather turns nice, even 50's or 60's there will be a lot of kids bundled up to play at any park. Hope this helps :)

Hi, just wanted to let you know that there is a North Suburban Stay at Home Moms meetup group. THey post tons of free and inexpensive events for infants and young children. The group also provides ways to keep up with the other moms that are looking for playgroups, etc. Here is the link if you are interested: http://sahm.meetup.com/99/

You will probably have to create a log in name, etc. and give a little info about you and your kids. Hope it works out for you.
