I was looking at the recent cruise question. I am just wondering if my hubby and I could do a cruise over a long weekend. We live in Kansas, so we are land locked and would need to fly to a port. Is there such a thing as a 3 day cruise, and if so is it worth it for the short trip?

Thanks!!

M.

They definitely have 3 day cruises and yes it's worth it!! We went for 7 and I can't imagine shorter, but I'd go if it was my only option :).

Hmmm...I have to say I don't actually think a 3 day cruise is worth it if you live in KS! We love to cruise and I highly recommend it, but honestly the cost of airfare and the hassle of getting on/off the ship (it's not that it's hard, it's just a bit of a process) makes you want to stay there and enjoy it! 3 days is a quick cruise and I don't think you'll really get to relax that much.

If airfare wasn't a concern then I absolutely think it'd be fun, but not in this case. Check out the 5 and 7 day options. We have done both. Both are awesome, but 7 day is better! ;)

There are plenty of three day cruises. Most cruise lines offer them - departing Friday afternoon and returning early Monday morning. It's a perfect weekend getaway. At this time of year, you'll probably end up taking one out of Florida.

I love cruises, so I definitely think it's worth it.

I'd say that it would be rushed and over before you realized you were on one...

Consider taking a holiday weekend to do it then fly out Thursday evening, get on the ship Friday morning or afternoon, go on a quick trip, come back late Sunday evening or take off Monday as a personal day and come back Monday late.

Click cruises and put in how many days then what port you might like best. I'd go for Texas myself because it's within driving distance of one day. If you're flying out you can pretty much go to any port in a day.

I think it depends on how much the airfare is. If it is a cheap flight then it is worth it but if the flight is fairly pricey then I think a 7 day cruise would be better.

Sure - look into Galveston, TX and even New Orleans. Yes, it's worth it. Try for a 4 day if you can.

I did a nice 4 day one out of Ft. Lauderdale florida to Mexico. Had one day just at sea and the others had ports. I live in Florida so no flying involved. The trip was very nice though I'd do it again.

Yes, we just went on one over the S. out of New Orleans that left on Thursday at 4 pm and came back on Monday at 8 am.

There are definitely 3 day cruises. I don't know about whether it's worth it - really depends on the cost. But I love to cruise so if I could afford a 3 day along with air fare, I would go for it.
