Pics of Kids in Master Bedroom? No Big Deal or Moodkiller?

I got suckered into signing up for a 4 session baby photo shoot.
Now I have so many (wonderful) pictures of my kids I could open a gallery...
Ages ago I saw one of those home remodeling shows and the "designers" said you shouldn't put pictures of your kids in the master bedroom because well...you know. Silly. Obviously this has stuck w/ me. :/
Right now I have one in a frame on my dresser, a 5x7 of DH kissing newborn DS. It doesn't bother me.

I'm thinking some of these new ones I get in a few weeks are going to have to go on the walls in our bedroom, because there is just not enough room for them all.

Do you have pics of your kids in your bedroom? Or would that enable you/DH?

I don't ask questions often because I always feel like they are kinda dumb-this is no exception. But I'm curious what you ladies think...

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for the interesting responses!
We don't have a big fancy house-space is THE problem. My stairwell/hallway can't hold them all.
I don't have any problems breaking those decorators rules-usually they leave me unimpressed. ;)
And yeah, good point, I am not usually looking around the room. Heehee.

Thanks again! Love everyone's different thoughts!

HAHA! Pictures of either of our parents...yeah. Lol. That would be nightmare inducing as well as mood killing! :)

Ok...made a tally, there are 20-8x10's, 4-5x7's, and 2 big odd sizes. More than 1/2 are brand new and they cost so much money of course they are getting hung up! It will be my baby gallery. :)

Some of my actual children sleep in the same BED as hubby and I do. I hardly think a few photos on the wall would bother me. In fact, they don't, because I have some up.:)

I say Mood Killer! We have pics of them in the hall and I can see them from my side of the bed. I love their prescious little faces, but I can admit that seeing them in bed only makes me think more about being a mom and the laundry list that comes with it than being a wife/lover to my hubby! That's why we close the door! LOL

Who lives in your house-- you, or those know-it-all designers?

I have a couple pics of my son in our room. And let me tell you, when we are being intimate, my eyes are closed or on my husband. I am NOT looking around the room!:)

I think if the actual KIDS were in the bedroom, THAT would be a bummer. But pictures of them? I don't have any, but not for any particular reason. I say put them up, and if it weirds you out a little next time you guys get busy, put them somewhere else!

Strange,, I watched a decorating show a few years back that said family and kid photos go in hallways and bedrooms but never in the living room. Unless its a really nice fancy family portrait over the fireplace. Well, our bedroom is covered in our kids, grand daughter and even a few former daycare kids who were really special to me years ago. On the walls, on the dressers and night stands. One wedding picture too. The hall is lined with kids and grand kid. On book shelves in the living room I have snapshots framed of us all amongst the books and knick knacks. They are mostly decorative for the frames, not necessarily the photo itself. I dont think either of us is looking at those pictures in our bedroom when we are otherwise engaged,,, if you get my drift.

Mood killer. Love my kids and all, but their pictures go in the rest of the house, along with the pics of my siblings, parents, and in-laws. Because, yeah...

I have a huge collage of newborn photos in my room of our baby and us. I really don't think it kills the mood... Just shows what the mood can ultimately make hahaha. It takes a LOT more than some photos to ruin my mood!

Keep them in your room. I love photos everywhere =)

We have a couple of small family pics that you really can't see from the bed. But we also have an oil portrait of our boys on the wall. I love seeing it first thing when I wake up.

Currently my four year old son is demanding I take down all my Rick Springfield pictures and put up ONLY pictures of him.

My husband doesn't care. He knew me back in high school and KNEW I was a package deal with my RS obsession.

I did move around the pictures and my son had a huge melt down because I move "Uncle Rick" to a new spot and he wanted the picture moved back to the original spot. KIDS!

Aww, your question isn't dumb. :o)
We don't have our kids' pictures in the MB. My hubby probably wouldn't notice at all, but I would. I don't like pictures of people in our bedroom because it makes me feel like they can see what I'm doing or see me naked. Lol. Also, I love pictures, but relegate them mostly to photo albums or memory books. I have a select few of our children's baby photos on bookshelves in the LR, but that's it. I know people that seem to want to cover every inch of wall with photos and I always love looking at their photos, but just don't like it for my home. To each their own. Do what you like! :)

I guess the designer does make a point. But my personal opinion is, if its not a mood killer for you then, I don't see any reason not to hang pictures of them.

As for me, I actually do not have any pictures of my kids in my bedroom...and I actually never realized that until now. I do have one of my husband and I from our wedding day. LOL

I like to keep the bedroom as kid free as possible, however we co sleep so when we can be intimate I like to have it kiddo free. So, no pics in the bedroom, bathroom now that is another story.

I have pictures of my kids ALL over my house, literally in every single room and hallway, minus bathrooms. So no,my room doesn't have them. Only because I want to keep it peaceful. I love my kids like crazy, but they can drive me crazy too. My room still has some of their toys, clothes, art work, etc, but no pictures. It has in the past, just not right now.

We have no space and pictures go wherever they go without too much thought. I don't think we have pictures of the kids in our room, but not because I would have a problem with it. I wouldn't really WANT them in our room, but then again we've got a newborn so we're used to the mood killer of "shhhhh! Try not to be so loud or you'll wake him up before we're done." :)

Feng Shui says never put family pictures in your bedroom. It's totally up to you. I have my kids and grandkids pics up in other rooms but not my bedroom.

My grandma had 8 grandchildren and she kept one wall for an 8x10 of each of us. Then she had 8 photo albums, one starring each of us. Whenever she got a new photo, she would take the older one out and put it in the photo album, and put the newer one in the frame. I have ONE specially sized photo collage for each of my 2 boys of their first studio portraits as babies. After that, I follow grandma's lead and do photo albums when replacing an older picture with the newer one. In each boys room, they also have a "my first year" frame with 13 pictures (12 small, 1 bigger for the birthday) and a couple of my favorites. But they're in their room. My masterbedroom has a few framed 4x6 and 5x7s on top of my husband's dresser, but I can't really see them from the bed, lol. On the wall we have a mirror and 2 paintings, that's all. Pretty simple.

Hmm, I have some in there and it doesnt bother me at all. But they arent hanging on the wall, they are on a table in the seating area, so they arent all in your face.
