Period with Nausea and Vomiting.

Since I had my daughter 14m ago, when I have a period, I get very nausea and vomit the whole 8+ days. I had my hormones checked 6m after I had her but they said everything was normal. I think something is going on. Like I said in previous post, I gained a ton of weight and no matter what I do, can't lose it. I eat healthy, cut out sodas, drink water, and nothing. I have tried WW, Jenny, Adipex, you name it, I tried it. What gives. I have had my thyroid checked but said that's normal too. Both my mother and sister have had thyroid issues and both had it removed. SHould I seek a different dr?

What can I do next?

I would find a good naturopathic doctor and have him do some tests. They test for things (hormones) differently than an allopathic doctor. That is, the naturopath will look for any issues that are starting to show or that you are showing signs of, so that he can start helping your body heal and the issues will go away before you get sick. The allopathic doctor will take tests and, even if the tests show that your hormones are off or low, will say that you're perfectly healthy, because the way he is taught, unless you have a dis-ease or disorder, they is nothing wrong with you.

You could have issues with your thyroid or your adrenals or your female hormones (or some other hormone) that is messing with your weight and your menustration. As far as your allopathic doctor is concerned, your tests show that you are "in the range" for "being okay/not sick." And until those results change and you actually have a dis-ease--the allopathic doctor isn't able to help you.

Whereas the naturopathic doctor will be able to see that this hormone or that hormone is off and can start helping you get your body healthy before you get terribly sick.

You know there's something wrong. Go and find a doctor who can help you get better. That's what I had to do. My allopathic doctor refused to help me, so I went to alternative medicine. It was the best decision I ever made.

Nausea and vomiting--This reminded me of when I had an ovarian cyst.

The other issue reminds me of right now. My weight gain started when I got off birth control several years ago. During my pregnancy almost three years ago, everything went right back into place--weight went down, energy went up, skin was perfect. I wasn't taking care of myself any differently, always had a good, healthy diet and active enough lifestyle. I think that I might have eaten a few more hamburgers during pregnancy, though. Once the baby was born, I got to enjoy my svelte figure for about eight months. Then, the weight came back. My doc said that my thyroid function appears to be fine, but it feels hormonal. I am convinced at this point that if I get back on the pill, it will set things straight again. I don't know what else to do.

It happened to me after my first pregnancy, for about 2 years, not every month but often enough to go to the doctor, and several times I swore I was pregnant but of course I was not. My doctor said it's the hormones that sometimes can trigger these symptoms and what really worked in my case was a ginger based OTC medicine - Gravol, which may be bought only from drugstores in Canada (that's where I live at that time); I haven't seen it in the States and my doctor here has not heard about it. Ginger tea may help as well though.
In regards to losing your pregnancy weight, you may need to combine healthy diet with some fitness/aerobic classes and again, what it worked in my case was a cardio-aerobic class at our local recreation center, 2-3 times a week, combined with a healthy diet (vegetables, fruits, fish, poultry - nothing fried, only grilled, baked or steamed, tea and water).
Hope this helps and wish you all the best!

I second the Ovarian Cyst. Get checked, my family friend was down and out almost monthly with such bad periods. She thought she had a kidney infection once and nothing. She would vomit, be so ill for all the time she would have her periods. She ended up having such a large cyst that she had to have surgery since then she feels 100% better.

Oh my goodness! That's horrible! Yes, I would definitely seek a different doctor. You could also try a naturopathic doctor- I went to one that helped me very much with hormonal issues after my son was born.

I hope you find answers soon! I can't imagine having nausea and vomiting for almost 1/3 of every month. My heart goes out to you!
