I am looking for a new pediatrician for my 2 year old son. We live in South Elgin, but are willing to travel 15 minutes or so for excellent care! I'm skeptical about mulit-doctor practices because I don't want to feel like a number. Any help or advice is appreciated!!

What can I do next?

Good Morning S. ~ Moved to IL and did not find a local Ped's office we liked, after interviewing a few we choose

Dr. William Hutt 5970 Churchview Dr Rockford Health Physicians Rockford, IL 61107

YEP - in ROCKFORD!! The early and late hours and weekend too has been great. Our youngest never seems to be 'ill' between 9 and 5. On a Saturday morning, If I really think it is urgent, I have called while in ROUTE to the office and they take us with SMILES!! Further out - but the group of Doctors and Nurses are EXCELLENT. We have seen a few doctors and I would recommend them over and over. <###-###-#### is the switchboard / you can call and just get an interview set up/ask for a 'free interview'> The office is also set with a FULL Lab <blood/sample> / x-ray / IM / and OB office ALL in ONE place. If they/you need anything - all is right there.

Go with your gutt. Make interview appts. One might work for your 'best' friend and not for you. Good Luck.

BTW - youngest of six children is five years old <oldest will be 22> btdt.

I go to the Associates in Pediatrics and see Dr.Mike. I actually see him in their Streamwood office, but I have been nothing but happy with my experiences there. There is also a Dr. Rupal in the practice that I have spoken with on the phone (at midnight and she was extremely friendly and helpful LOL) but I know a lot of people that like her as well. I saw Dr. Wynn once and he was great too.
They have always been great about talking to me and answering questions and have never talked down to me or dismissed any of my concerns (or opinions).

I completely understand how you feel about being a number. My husband and I moved to IL in November 2006 and didn't know anyone let alone any pediatricians. Our daughter came in February 2007 and we have now seen 2 different pediatrians at 2 totally different offices and are now going to try a third. I have been told that Associates in Pediatrics is awesome!! I just made my daughter's 1 year appointment with Dr. Michael as well. There is an office off of Randall Road just past I-90. Alot of my mommy friends see Dr. Michael and that office and have so many great things to say about them. Hope this helps.

Hi S.!

The family practice that my husband and I went to when I was pregnant with my first child had a pediatrician so we thought it would be convenient to have all of our doctors in one office. Now that we have 2 children being in the same office doesn't really matter BUT the pediatrician is wonderful. We go to Dr. Janet Wildman in St. Charles on rt. 25 just north of the river. She is with Dr. Reeder. She is so thorough and her visits are anything but rushed. Her career is her life and she keeps up with what's new. Here's her number: ###-###-####. I hope you find a good match for you and your son.

Hi there! We live in south elgin too and we go to Associates in Pediatrics. They are a practice with multiple doctors, but we always pick the same doctor. We like Dr. Michael, but a lot of people I work with see other doctors in the practice and like them a lot too. They have an office near Big Timber and Randall, its a small one, but I guess the Streamwood office is really nice. They are associated with St. Alexius and Sherman. My little guy recently had a hairline fracture (real fun at 20 months!) and they referred us to a pediatric orthopedic. But, a nurse called to check on how he was doing and Dr. Michael also called himself to see how he was doing. So I thought that was nice, no doctor has ever called me to see how I was doing! I hope this helps!
Oh by the way, I am a teacher too! Snow day Friday?! :)
