Pediatric Allergy/Asthma Specialist in Fort Worth

My 5 year old daughter has had intermittent asthma and allergies since she was 2 1/2. She wakes up every day of her life sneezing for the first 10-15 minutes. Her asthma is usually triggered by sickness, usually the common cold or virus. In addition, she was diagnosed (blood test after a hives break out) with Peanut allergy when she was 3! She takes Claritin daily and her pediatrician has recommended beginning a daily regimen of Singular since her asthma is starting up again. With all that said she actually lives a very normal life - she's just always sniffling and sneezing :)! Her pediatrician has also suggested that she see an allergist. Do any of you moms have a recommendation for a pediatric allergist/asthma specialist (preferably in SW Fort Worth)? Her pediatrician recommended a few, but I thought I check with the "mamas" as well! Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Hi. My son goes to Dr. Tanna in SW Fort Worth off of College and Rosedale. He is not a pediatric doctor but is very good with children. I have been very pleased with his office and staff. They are child friendly. My son has mild asthma and seasonal allergies. He is on a daily regimen that really makes a huge difference in his everyday breathing. He used to sneeze in his sleep and every morning as well as sniff during the day. His breathing was very strong and loud too. He is back to normal thanks to Dr. Tanna's testing and treatments. His website is allergyfortworth.com
I was able to get an appointment very quickly too.
Good luck with your daughter.

J.,

I know you asked for an allergist in Ft. Worth, but I took my daughter to Dr. Stephen Apaliski in Arlington. He is located at 5421 Matlock Rd. ###-###-####. This is in south Arlington just off of I-20. We loved him and his vibrant blue shoes. He is very personable and friendly. They do have a team of doctors here, however, my pediatrician recommended him.

We all see Dr. Tanna and sometimes Dr. Haden. They are in the medical district on College Street. They are both excellent and treat children, have a kid friendly atmosphere with books, TV's and children's table. Our 3 year old has seen him since he's been 2. We highly recommend them. Our Son has asthma and allergies and has been taking Singulair for about 1 1/2 -2 years now. Since we started Singulair, he doesn't have any coughing/wheezing anymore, so no more asthma symptoms! He still has occasional sneezing, takes Allertan and the generic form of it and nose spray.

My oldest granddaughter had the same problem. She was on 5 different medications PLUS a nebulizer every day from the time she was about 4. Claritin, Advair, .... ? ... and she still woke up sneezing every day. The Claritin dried her out so bad, she'd have horrible nosebleeds in the night. My daughter found a doctor in Glen Rose (a pediatrician or pediatric allergist or soemthing) who actually invented a surgery where they cauterize the nose hair folicles (or something like that) to create scar tissue so the allergens can't get through. I couldn't believe the difference - within a month she was off all of her meds - she kept an inhaler for 'emergency' use.

I'll try to get his name.

We use Dr. Fling for our daughter. He is in Lake Worth off Boat CLub Road at the University of Texas Health Science building. He is awesome. My daughter has allergies and asthama and he treats her well. We did the singular but I took her off it after he behavior changing and he was ok with it and worked about it in another way. Message me if you need his info.
