Park & Playgrounds for Toddlers

I'm looking for a good park with a playground for my toddler he's 1 and a half is there any in st. louis?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

DeMun park is Great! He had the play area to himself which helps because he's just learning to walk and not quite stable enough on his own. We went to Suson and he was very intimated by the bigger kids moving around so quickly, He wants to play with them but is not yet ready, it must be really frustrating for him. Thanks Ladies for the info it has really helped!

There's a playground in Clayton on Demun

that I LOVE. It's relatively small but plenty for toddlers and is fenced in. My 2yo is a runner! The piece of equipment for smaller kids is also under a huge shade tree which keeps them a little safer from sun exposure and also keeps the equipment cooler. And there are infant swings. I would highly, highly recommend!

I'm not sure where you live, but there is a park on the corner of Clayton and Big Bend in Clayton/Maryland Heights. I forget the name of it, but there is a great playground designed for younger kids. It is next to a playground designed for older kids. There is also a large park of grass and trees where your little one can run, and there is a great pond with fish, turtles, and sometimes ducks. We loved to bring bread to feed the fish.

My daughter just turned 2 yrs old. But when she was between 1 1/2 and 2, we took her to Des Peres Park off of Manchester and Ballas. They have two separate play areas - one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids. Then we went to Tilles Park off of McKnight in the Rock Hill area. They have a water play area and my daughter, along with other kids, were just having the time of their lives!! Just make sure you take an extra pair of clothes and towel. CityGarden downtown has a similar water fountain play area for the kids!! CityGarden also has like a wading pool, but we found (after the the fact) that children in diapers aren't supposed to be in there. I saw that someone mentioned Suson Park and I forgot all about that park until just now. That's a good place to go too!! I haven't been there since I was in high school!! You can also try Faust Park out by Chesterfield. They have a huge playground, the Butterfly House is there and they also have an indoor Carousel!! My daughter LOVES that Carousel!!
Have fun!!

My daughter is 16 months and she loves Millenium park on Olive by Mason. It's behind Missouri Bone & Joint. Actually a few stop lights past Mason towards 270. It has a water play area (where it shoots up water out of the ground) and different size playgrounds.

I'm not sure where you live in the St. Louis area but Suson Park is a great park to take your child to. They have a great new playground and they have a barn area with horses, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. It's all free. It's located on Wells Rd. In South County. Wells Rd. is between Tesson Ferry and Meramec Bottom.

All great suggestions from other Moms. The park at the corner of Big Bend and Clayton Road in the Richmond Heights/Clayton area (that Kristy G. mentioned) is Oak Knoll Park.

Kirkwood Park might be worth checking out too. They used to have a big water sprayer and a pretty big sandbox. I think they have put in new equipment since I was there last. Also, Vlasis Park (off Manchester, not sure exactly where, but I think in the Ballwin area) also has water sprayers. I also love DeMun park for your son's age. If anyone goes there with potty-trained kids -- there is no bathroom there!!
