My son was born January 2006 when he was about 5 months old I started having this pain in the right side of my abdomin where my gallblader and apendex are since May 2006. It's a sharp stabing pain but not extremley painful. Its been there all the time since May. When ever I have my periods it get's worse. I went to the Dr. in July and he sent me to see a Gastro-Intestinal Dr. They did a cat-scan but didn't see anything. He had me take some acid reflux medication and then went back to see him in September and he said he really has no idea what is wrong with me. He suggested I have a Colonoscopy but I had just had one 2 years before so i asked to wait. It is now January, 9 months later and I still have the pain. It comes and goes but when ever I have my periods it is really bad. I have endometriosis, which has mostly gone away since having my son but this pain is no where near where my Endo was. The Dr. said that sometimes women with Endo. that have had surgery can rarely have scar tissue build up in your intestions. But my question is, Has anyone else had similar pains after giving birth? Or does anyone know what this could possibly be?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much to those of you who responded to me. I made an appointment with the Gastro dr. and i think I am going to have to have a Colonoscopy. But please keep giving me the info. -Thanks-

It is PROBABLY endo tissue - once it's out of the uterus it can spread everywhere. I'd ask for an endoscopic look by a good surgeon.

good luck

My mother in law had the same thing. She went to dr. after dr. and no one could figure it out. One day I went to the ER with her and the dr. decided to keep her overnight until they found out what it was. They found it was kidney stones, appendisitis and galbladder problems. Her blood count and everything was normal so it was hard for them to come to a conclusion. I hope you find out what it is and everything be ok.

Hello, Having pain and the doctors not been able to tell you whats wrong, maybe you need to change doctors. I have a cople of doctors that are great, OBGYn Christopher Seeker and Gastro Eduardo Alcocer. I always have that pain where you say you have yours and my Doctor Alcocer told me I have IBM Irritable Bowel Movement. But maybe is a cyst in your ovaries,or stones in your gald bladder or kidneys so there are a lot of test you can have to find out why your pain. Don't wait to long to find about your pain, you never know what is going on in your body.
You can find both doctors in Google. Good Luck.

I am not sure if it is the same problem i a having. well two years ago I had a c-section with my son. About a month ago i started having little stings in that area and when i felt down there I felt a knot so I went to my doctor and she told me it could be something called seroma it is fluid that develops after surgery but in most people it just absorbe into the body and other times it sits there and have to be taken out by a surgen. Well I was refered to a surgen and he checked everything out and told me it is scar tissue and it has to be removed because it can cause a lot of pain. Also around time for cycle the pain increase and it comes and goes. It is not a pain where I am in a lot of pain it is more of a pulling feeling in my abdominal area than anything. I hope this helps.

Your pain sounds a lot like Fibroids. It does have a connection to endometriosis. My twin sister and myself have both experienced this. We have even rushed my sister to the emergency room...because of the pains location. I will tell you that the ER acted like my sister had gas. When we talked to her gyno...it was explained that the fibroid was expanding and that was what caused the pain. Fibroids do not show up on cat-scans. I would recommend you going to see your gyno. Hormones are the only help my sister has found. Good luck and I hope this helps.
