Our Turn. What Do WE Do That Bugs Our Husbands?

I love the question about them annoying us, but it made me wonder if they all know this is our pet peeve? Have we ever said anything? I don't think I have. So, What do we do to bug our husbands? Do we know what pet peeves they have? For me, I think my husband probably gets annoyed because the car is always messy. I don't clean the car out. But that's an assumption, I really have no idea. He's never complained, he just cleans it out. I sure don't want to ask because I'm afraid he'll have a long hurtful list! Do you know what you do that drives him nuts? If y ou knew, would you change it? I still have no intention of cleaning out the car. :)

What can I do next?

I start talking and I walk out of the room. And I yell from another room instead of walking in to talk to him. It drives him crazy. I learned it from my Mom and it used to drive me crazy, but somehow I just can't help myself!

Ha ha ha... there are so many things I do that annoy my husband ... even when he sometimes does the same thing! But... let's see...
After feeding the bird, I always leave the spoon in the sink because I have the bird sitting on my other hand... Oh, and I peel off the little stickers from the fruits and veggies and leave them on the counter because I am in the middle of washing them all.... And... I don't wash ALL the pots, pans and utensils WHILE I cook...

I'll get a cramp in my hand (or brain) if I kept going...

But he has put up with me for 25 years and claims he has every intention of keeping me (and is just glad I put up with HIM... so the feeling is mutual).

Oh boy...I'm sure I won't even hit half of them but I'll give it a shot.

We have in our house what we call "Dad's Discussions"...and everyone gets them including mom. We try really hard cause he will go on and on and on and on...

1. I am forever leaving the sink sprayer thing in the sink and not replacing it in the proper holder.
2. Clothes on the bathroom floor.
3. Call him too many times during the day cause I have something important to tell him...but if I don't do when I think about it I will forget and then he doens't know...aye ya yai.
4. Asking what's for dinner? or "is there anything that sounds good" and then saying "no I'm not making that"! I do this one sort of to annoy him.

Added: totally forgot and a couple of you ladies reminded me of my ONE MAJOR FLAW....

I do not screw back on lids and if it's an item like Chalula that needs to be shaken he gets all "MELONIE, seriously"

I am a compulsive furniture rearranger. When my ex would come home (I have to go w/ex b/c I'm not married) it wasn't uncommon for the whole house or a room or 2 to be rearranged. He used to hate that he could never find his things in all my rearranging. I still do it, but now there's nobody to annoy!

I drive my husband nuts when I
1. Fart and burp.
2. Am dressed all sloppy.
3 Am on mamapedia and there are things to do around the house.
4. I swear, I am ALWAYS losing my keys. I never know where they are.
I am sure there are more, but those are the ones I KNOW bother him. Am I gonna stop fartin' and burpin'? Nope. He does it too! Am I going to get all gussied up so that I can stay at home and nurse and raise three kids? Nope. Am I going to stop going on mamapedia...not bloody likely!

One day I was annoyed with him about something and asked him why he always did that (don't even remember what it was). He turned around and asked me why I never parked the car straight in the driveway and straightened out the wheels when I parked?

I was totally shocked, and had no idea he was annoyed about that. I do try to do it most of the time now, but every once in a while I just don't care how I am parked, and don't feel like changing it once I am in the driveway. We both have our little pet peeves.

Well, I answered the other question that I really don't have anything to complain about him. He does WAY more than any other husband I know. But I KNOW I drive him nuts because I'm a procrastinator and he is so NOT. So he will want to put something of mine away and I'll say NO, I'll do it!!! But he wants it done NOW and I want to do it when I really have TIME to do it right so we bump heads on that. We have accepted this about ourselves and we work together pretty well so it usually isn't an "issue" with us. But we both are aware of it so I guess that counts. =)

These answers are making me feel NORMAL!
1) leaving my light on in my car (or any light on, for that matter)
2) asking questions (simple ones - did you have a good day? What do you want to do? What do you want for dinner?)
3) My CAR - definitely. I won't let him near it. I'm doing better at keeping it clean!!
4) Making sure that his radio will go off at night, because I can't sleep with it on!
Thank you for posting this. ** Sigh**.,,,

I know it annoys him that when im talking I get distracted by one of our girls and then forget completely what I was talking about. On the other hand if he was listening to begin with he'd be able to help me up pick up where I left off, so haha!! Caught you not paying attention. Oh!, and it drives him crazy when I stash junk in drawers to get it out of the way, he said if there's an empty drawer I'd find something to put in it but isn't that what they're for?? I love him so much!

I know of a few, but the first one that came to mind was the fact that every night when I go to bed I bring up half a glass of soda. The possiblity that I will ever drink more than 2 swallows of this is nil. I NEVER remember to bring the glass downstairs the next morning. We will end up with about 8-10 half-full soda glasses looking like science projects before he will get annoyed & take them all downstairs. He pretty much never bitches at me about it though.

SusieQ: that was hilarious! :-D

I know what bugs my husband because I see it in his face when it happens....He doesn't like when I micro manage him. HA! If I ask him to do something, or if I know he's going to get something done, I bug him until he does it when "i want it done"....He procrastinates a lot so I do that and it bugs him. Another thing is that mostly when I have an issue with him, instead of making it a simple conversation, I turn it into an essay!
I work on this occassionally...but I tend to revert back to my old ways. :-D

Oh and to add one thing on the other list: It annoys me that whenever I clean the bathroom, get it all smelling nice and fresh, and my husband soon afterwards, goes in there and takes a dump! UGH...no more freshness! LOL
