My husband, daughter, and I are going to Orlando for a week next summer, but he's going to be at a conference for most days. Does anyone had recommendations for fun things for me to do with my then 18-month toddler other than Disney? (We're planning on doing a couple days at Disney, but I was hoping to do some other things, too. Espeically since it'll mostly be just me and her)

What can I do next?

When my son was 18 months old we went to Florida and spent one of our vacation days in Orlando. We went to Sea World and it was great. It is a smaller park, so you won't be there the entire day trying to see everything. They have this great children's area with sandboxes and a splash park. Then of course, they get to see all the "fishies"! I was really glad that we did that instead of Disney. It was a nice time and I think at that age he enjoyed it a lot.

There is a really nice petting farm in Kissimmee. They have all of the farm animals, etc. there are also picnic grounds there. We went there when our oldest son(who is now 19) was about 4. I cannot think of the name, but I am sure it is still there. we drove past it when we visited orlando about 3 years ago.

Sea World would be a nice place to go. There is also Universal Studios - it has a nice children's section to the rides.

There is this great place.... called wacky house or something... my husband and I stumbled upon it, and it was AWESOME. It's basically a fun house, and the building is actually designed so it looks upside down-- ask your hotel about it. it's awesome.
