My daughter and I are wanting to start a business to organize homes. Papers, books, drawers...you name it, we will help get it in order. What I want to know is if there is a real need or want for this type of service? If so, what do you need the most help with? Would you want this as a one time deal or bi,tri, half year incriments? How much would you be willing to pay for such a service? Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!

My friend Jeannie has a business like you are referring to. A couple of years ago, she was the president of a National organization of organizers.

Have you actually thought of going to work for someone, learn the tricks of the trade and then start your own business. At least send your daughter out to learn.

You never know, she is located in Naperville, and based on a previous question, you were looking to re locat to Barrington or Bartlett? You wouldn't really be incompetion with each other.

I too have looked into this and it wsa way too pricey!! About $40/hr and needing 8 hours to spend with me to do the kitchen.. My kitchen isn't that big... plus I have 3 kids so Iw ould somehow need someone to watch my kids for 8 hours AND pay someone to come in and help organize.. It woudl be heaven sent if someone came in and did it!!! Keep me posted on what/how you do it.. I coudl use help in this area for sure!! If I had 8 hours to do it myself I am certain I could but I don't!!!

I would love to have someone come into my home, but everywhere I've looked, I've found it to be way too expensive. Many organizers charge $50 an hour. I can't afford that. (considering that it would take several hours to organize my house)

I think I would love this on a consultation basis. It would be great-if the price was right to have someone come in and give some recommendations. If the price was reasonable having the option to have you do it would be good.

I think that this would be a great idea. All of us with kids have very little time to organize things. I just started working for a web design and technology company.
