Hello everyone I need help locating a occupational and speech therapist for a autistic 21 year old. I would like for him to receive occupational therapy to complete a sensory program, and speech therapy to possibly assist with communicating. I have contacted many therapist, but the problem I have crossed is many of them will not come to my area. I'm needing services in Euless,TX. I would like the services to be completed within the home, because the young man works better in his home environment. Medicaid will not pay for the service, but a agency is willing to pay $69.00 a hour. I'm aware that rate is low but I really need help. If any one has any resources are possible leads I would appreciate your help.

Have you contacted MHMR? They would be the experts at obtaining that type of care? You might also contact your school district. They offer services until age 25, I believe.

Good luck.

Have you tried Therapy 2000 or Sante? They both come to the home and I believe they both take Medicaid. We've used both, Therapy 2000 seems a little better to me. Hope this helps, C.

K.,

I would suggest that you contact your school district, Cook Children's Hospital, and the Scottish Rite Hospital. Between these resources, you should find someone who is able to assist you.

Blessings!

Check with the Special Education department of the school district to see if any Speech Therapist need part time work. Post the job at the Fine Arts department - or contact the that department - at local colleges to see if any graduates need part time work.

We used Monkey Mouth in the HEB area for my son. They are great! Our insurance would not pay so we had to find someone that we could afford and did with MONKEY MOUTH! They are located on Harwood.
