Hi all - I am new to the oak Park/River Forest area and REALLY need help finding childcare for my 22month old son Josh. We need 3 days a week, so that has been a problem and I am also looking for a home daycare. Secondarily, we are looking for someone to play with!! Any other moms in the area who would like to get meet at the pool, go to the zoo or the park or just get together for our kids to play?

What can I do next?

Dear S.,

Welcome back to IL! My fiance is from Oak Park and we lived there together for 4 years before moving to BBrook.

In reference to recommendations for child care...I too faced that dilemma there when I had my son two years ago. My fiance and his siblings were cared for by Hephzibah Children's Association (I don't have their telephone # handy) and they could probably refer you to someone. I took my son to a friend of a friend who lives in Broadview. She was absolutely wonderful with my son and I never had to worry about him being mistreated. If you would like me to give you her information, feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to help. In the meantime, best of luck!

Hi S. - My husband and I used Blocks Childcare Center in Oak Park for 15 months last year and were very pleased. Most notably, they contract with a music/movement resource for weekly music classes and also bring in a library resource for weekly book readings.

We have two boys, a 30 month old and a 12 month old and would be happy to get the boys together.

Both my husband and I work full-time, so we could do an initial play date on a weekend and see how that goes. If all goes well, our nanny, Anna is wonderful and would attend to any weekday playdates.

Hi-
Welcome to OP/RF! I've been taking my 19 month old to our sitter for a year and a half. She is wonderful and will have an opening at the end of July. Her name is Candy Montanez- ###-###-####. I joined the OP/RF newcomers club-- call Sarah to join- ###-###-####. I've been to one event so far. It seems like a good way to meet people.
Good luck!
