New to Dallas - Need Pediatrician

I take my daughter to see Chris Straughn with Forest Lane Pediactrics in Medical City Hospital. I find the staff and all the doctors there are great and well attentative to my child's needs as well as willing to listen to any question I have. The practice has 3 male doctors and one female doctor. I don't know her name off the top of my head but we have been to see her once when Dr. Straughn was off and she was just as good as Dr. Straughn. My daughter has been going there since she was born and we've never had a bad experience (minus shots cause all babies cry with shots :) )

We really like her, and she runs pretty much on time which is very nice when going to the doctor.

Try anyone in the group North Dallas Pediatrics. My daughter sees Dr. D, but there are women in the group. They have offices in North Dallas, Plano, and Frisco.

Although not female, Dr. Jeffrey Berkowitz is a male but has two daughters himself and is very well respected by many. He is located at Parker and Midway across from Plano Presby. There are other doctors in his practice that we've used and they are good as well. Female...but can't remember exact names at the moment.

ours is dr. Burns and dr. Shin....both women and I like them alot. I have Aetna too and only pay my $5 co-pay each visit.

They are on walnut hill across from Presbyterian hospital.

I haven't read the other responses, so maybe I'm just one more recommendation, but we really like the Pediatricians of Dallas, located across from Presbyterian Hospital on Walnut Hill. We see Dr. Karen Halsell and really like her. I've hear good things about all of the Dr.s in the practice and I've been happy with their schedule, availablity, etc. There are 2 women and 3 men. (Honestly, the other woman has a somewhat cold bedside manner.) They also have a lactation consultant on staff if you have a baby while here.

I second the suggestion of Pediatricians of Dallas. We see Dr. Somer Curtis as well and LOVE her. She is awesome. I really like the office and how it works. They have a sick waiting room and a well waiting room and even a newborn waiting room across the hall.

Oh, and they do take Aetna...that is what we have. :)

We HIGHLY recommend Dr Susan Clifford @ RHD on 635 & Webb Chapel. She was my step-sister's doctor (she's almost 20 yrs old now) so when I was pregnant with my 1st son, we knew immediately where to go...never even interviewed anyone else! He was born with a genetic disorder & right kidney wasn't working (surgery fixed it up though) and she referred us to the best specialists and clinics. He is a healthy 3 yr old boy now and we just had our 2nd son. Both boys love her (my 3rd old actually runs and hugs her when she comes into the room). She also has privileges at Medical City, which was a blessing for us when our 3yr old was born with complications because my OB moved me there for the NICU. She takes Aetna (that's what we have) and has great hours and on-call services available. Her humber is ###-###-####

Christina Carnes on 75 and Caruth HAven by the Double Tree hotel, she is great!! So friendly, she listens so well and is very thorough.

Hi S....I have a great pediatrician that both my kids just love! I wasn't too sure about her when I first met her, I was a total rookie when it came to being a mom, but she connects so incredibly with the kids, that I decided to stick with her, and I'm so glad I did. She's wonderful, and every single time she has told me to do something or try something, it's worked out just exactly the way she said it would! Any time I didn't follow her advice, I always regretted it! She's been my baby doc since the day my kids
were born, and I hope that never changes!

Pediatricians of Dallas is near Walnut Hill & 75. They have several pediatricians, but Somer Curtus, MD, is wonderful. They have Saturday morning sick child appointments too.

Julie Poole, M.D., is also a wonderful pediatrician. I don't know if these doctors take Aetna.

I also have Aetna insurance. My son has seen Dr. Steven Crow since birth. He is located at Arapaho and Floyd in Richardson. He has been a practicing pediatrician in the same building for 30 years. I know you said that you would prefer a female. He shares an office with a young female pediatrician named Dr. Norah Randles. We have seen her a few times also and she is very kind. They also have a nurse practitioner, Nancy, that works with them. The number is ###-###-####. They have Sat. morning appointments and after 5:00 appointments.
