We're moving to the area in a couple months. Need help with EVERYTHING, but we'll start with the important stuff...churches? We're looking for a place that truly teaches from the Bible, has an excellent youth group and contemporary worship. Any suggestions?

So What Happened?

My husband checked out Flamingo Road last week in Cooper City. He loved it! Thinks we'll like it too! Thanks for the input!

I have been going to Calvary Chapel on Cypress Creek Rd in Fort Lauderdale for about 6 years now. It is a large church with a school (Calvary Christian Academy), many outreach groups, live worship at the services and an amazing staff of Pastors and volunteers who really make it feel like a home away from home. Pastor Bob founded this church about 20 years ago and is a truely amazing man of God. The website is calvaryftl.org if you'd like to check it out. If you have any other questions please email me and I will fill you in more. There are also a few satellite churches in Plantation and Boca Raton where there is live worship and child care as well and they have large screens where they show the service if the Cypress Creek Rd location is too far for you to drive...

Hi, A.:

I hope and pray the Lord will continue to guide you and direct you with every aspect of your move. My name is S. and I live in Miami.

Calvary Chapel churches are great bible-teaching (verse by verse, chapter by chapter). I go to Calvary Chapel Miami, and our church is currently going through the book of Proverbs on Sunday, and Mark on Wednesday night service.

Depending on what area you will be moving to, there are several ones you can visit. Here are the websites of the churches so you can look at the addresses and get a glimpse of the ministries, etc. They are all truly a blessing!

In the Kendall area (way south)

In the Doral Area

Hope this helps. God bless you,

You didn't say exactly what town you were moving to, but First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale is a wonderful church to attend & belong to. It is strictly Bible-based teaching, great music, very friendly people, many groups to below to. I would highly recommend it, even if it is a little drive.
