We just moved to Lake Dallas from Illinois and need to find basically all new doctors: pediatrician, pediatric dentist, "regular" doctor and "regular" dentist. Can anyone recommed doctors who possibly even have evening or Saturday hours? Thank you!

What can I do next?

I have a WONDERFUL pediatrician in Grapevine. It would be about a 30 minute drive for you, but he's well worth it in my opinion. His name is Dr. Michael McCoy.

I am a dental hygienst for Dr Alan Gross who is located on Swisher. I have been working there for over 3 years and I love this office. The staff is great and he has a lot of great things in his office...crowns that are done in one visit and a laser that can do fillings possibly without having to get a shot. We do see children. We usually start seeing them around the age of 3 but I have been known to see some 2 year olds. We just do what we can...we don't want to push too much too fast...we just want them to be comfortable with us and don't want to frighten them. Our office does refer to some pediatric dentists...Dr Jeffery Holt who has a few offices...Coppell and Carrollton would be the closest and Dr Jason Clapp who is located in Highland Village. We see many families with kids but some children aren't cooperative or some parents just choose to take theirs to a pedodontist...you can really do either. In the same building as ours, there is an orthodontist (Dr Vignolo) who is great if you are needing someone for braces. This is where the McDowells are located too. I would have to agree with one of the earlier responses.. that they do have their own children and sometimes that may cause one of them to not be in the office and I know when your child is sick you need to get in asap! I would suggest one of the Cook Childrens doctors. Myself, sister, and some friends go the Dr Goffs office (which is located on Teasley in Denton) and love Dr David Goff, his wife, Dr Day, and Dr Torrie. I have also heard great things about Dr Amy Adams. Someone will be able to see your child that day when you call and Saturdays they are open a half day and you can basically just walk in but you will have a wait depending on how busy they are. As for regular physicians, I go to Lake Cities Medical Center and have seen both Dr Jack Maxwell and Dr Stephen Glaser and both are great and friendly. They are located on Swisher and are a little down from my dental office. I live in Corinth but make a drive to Flower Mound for my OBGYN. Her name is Dr Sylvie Paroski and she is so sweet. She has delivered both of my babies and I still see her for my annuals. I also see a chiropractor and get regular massages so if you need those names or anything else please don't hesitate to contact me. Heck, even if you have a dental question! Good luck and Happy New Year!

Welcome to the area!! We live in Corinth, and we see Dr. Amy Adams and just love her to death! I used to use Cook's childrens in Denton (Dr. Goff) but found they were way to busy for my tastes! I have 4 kids, and have seen my share of ped.s and honestly, she is the best! I have not seen Dr. Carrie Jones (who is in her office) but have also heard wonderful things about her. I also use Dr. Christina Dooley (she and Dr. Adams are great friends, and Chrisitna made the referral) as my OB, and again...love her!! I prefer using a Dr. that delivers at Denton Presbyterian hospital (if you are even considering more kiddos:) because they have an on site NICU. My hubby sees the Dr.s at Lake Cities Medical on Swisher, and has liked them. They are D.O.'s, which he likes a lot, so that would be my only recommendation there. Good luck, what a tough transition! We moved here from Ohio, and just love the are! Let us know if you need anything else! ~A.~

The only one I can help with is the dentist. I lived in LD in high school and started seeing Dr. Luzack at The Dentist next to Albertson's. I like him and his staff so much I still go there over 10 years later even though I live in Plano and it's over a half hour each way.

I have always been irrationaly phobic if the dentist and they are always patient with me. They were willing to use sedition when needed but have helped me get to point were I don't need it. And on my last visit I couldn't get anyone to watch my twins girls (about 9 months at the time) the receptionist was great helping to entertain them while I got my teeth cleaned.

i am in denton, so pretty closeby. first, welcome to the area!

pediatrician - dr. milton squiers - ###-###-####
he is part of cook children's network, there are 4 doctors in his practice, but i've only seen one other doctor one time, i am always able to get in with him. he is a super nice man, great doctor, and really LISTENS.

dentist - dr. daniel fuller(don't know his number offhand)i don't do the pediatric dentist thing, we all go to one family dentist, and my youngest is 2, so he deals WELL with small children!

we have not established with a family doctor in the three years we've been here, i usually just run up to carenow if i need a flu or strep test done, but i LOVE my ob/gyn(dr. indrani reddy at denton regional) and she recommends dr. martha strattmeyer(i could be WAY off on that spelling).

hope some of that helps!

Hey C.! We have lived in Lake Dallas now for 2 1/2 years. We have been using Dr. Carrie Jones as our pediatrician and LOVE HER!!! I don't know her number off hand but someone else metioned her in a response. Or you can put her name into superpages.com. We did try the McDowells, but they have several children, and we found that they didn't have a lot of availability. Also I went in for a "meet and greet" with Rhonda McDowell and she's very nice, but she didn't seem like the right Dr for us. We have been very happy with Dr. Jones.

Also, I go to my OBGYN for almost anything and he is a miracle worker. Dr. Tovar is his name and he is with North Tx OBGYN in Lewisville (old lewisville near the hospital right off 35) and I can't say enough good things about him!
Good luck and welcome to the area!

Pediatrician and family doctor all in one practice are Rhonda and Adam McDowell -- they're on Swisher. They're a husband and wife team. She's the pedi and he's the family doc. I believe the practice is called Corinth Family Medicine.

On the other side of town (northwest Denton) is Medical Clinic of North Texas. Same deal -- family medicine and pediatrics in the same building -- only they're not all family :-). The pediatricians are Amy Adams and Carrie Jones. The family docs are Scott Talbot and Kathleen Elder (nurse practitioner).

For OBGYN, I think Cummings is the most sought after in Denton.

Whole family (even kids age 5 and 3) goes to Gary Taylor for dentistry. He's on Fulton, just off University Drive.

For evening hours for children, we just use Acute Kids Urgent care in Flower Mound. They're GREAT!
