New Hardwood Floor
Hi. I'm new here but I can see that everybody is so helpful! I'm pregnant and I want to make some changes in my house before the baby will come. I need somebody very good to do my floor, and I want to put some new tiles in the bathrooms. Can you give me some tips, please? Thanks a lot!
So What Happened?™
Thanks everybody! A to Z Fooring ###-###-####) was the most affordable, and they've done exactly what I ask! I realy like my floor now! Fast, professional and good price!

I recommend A Quality Floors in Lincolnwood - not too far from you. They are posted on the business review portion of the site.
I hope you're enjoying an uneventfully blissful pregnancy.

Hi C.!
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I noticed you live in Glenview...I live in Glencoe..;)
I used Lewis Carpet on Skokie BLVD for my floors, but they ended up being rude
in the end, so I would not recommend them...though they have a great selection and
are very convenient...
I am a labor and delivery RN at Evanston. Another RN I work with, her husband is an excellent, he does alot of Dr. houses, etc...but they just left for spring break.
There is one other person I know that I have heard in our dep't whose husband
does really nice hardwood floors. (I learned this when Lewis Carpet screwed up ours).
Pregnancy-related...if there is anything that I can do for you, please let me know.. Check out Baby Feat.
I have a great network I can recommend to you.

I used Lucciano's Hard Wood Floors. He did a great job and was very reasonable. He doesn't advertise (guess he doesn't have to) and I got his number off of his truck. 773/510-0630.
Tell him D. sent you :-)

I have a great handyman. He can definitely tile your bathroom and I imagine he can do a wood floor. He is a very good carpenter. His name is Carlos Molina and his number is ###-###-####

Go to www.healthyhome.com they have non-toxic options for wood floors, tiles and even offer toxic-free nursery paint. I wish I knew about it before mine was born!

When I've needed a contractor for painting, I call the paint store and have them give me the names of three contractors they recommend. You could do the same with a tile place and somewhere that does wood flooring - maybe not Home Depot, but somewhere more specialized. You could also check out Angieslist.com I think you need to pay for a membership, but it's worth it to get honest recommendations (or non-recommendations!)
Congratulations on your baby!

I used A to Z Flooring. I saw they are listed on this site too, with very good reviews! Anyway, they've done a great job in my house: remodelling, installing new cherry, and a professional design. The name of the owner is Gabriel, and his phone # ###-###-####. He's very polite and the price is very good. He will offer you a free estimate. I will place a review for them on this site too, because they deserve it!

I don't have any names, but several of the other moms in my mother's group say that the website Angie's List is the only way to go for finding workmen. I think there's a nominal fee for it, but apparently the info is more than worth it.
Good luck and congratulations on your baby!
