With not knowing how or where you spend your money, we put ourselves on a cash only budget. It sounds like you are trying to keep track of what you spend. So figure where you need to be money wise in each item, and put that much in an envelope. When the money is gone, the money is gone. We ended up starving and running out of gas money for about 2 months. But it was an eye opener for us. When you use your credit/debit card you loose track of what you have spent, so it is easy to blow your budget. Good luck

Your bank should have someone who can help you with that, also, you have to be aware of EVERY expense and where EVERY penny gets spent in order to make a realistic budget.

If you aren't comfortable going to your bank for help let me know, budgeting is easy once you know how to do it. I'd be happy to help you.

My DH and I are also doing Dave Ramsey. We are in his Finacial Peace University class. We love it, were finally on a plan to be debt free! But I agree you have to budget and know where your money is going. It's not easy and it takes months to get it right. Were still trying to figure our budget, but each month it gets easier because were working on it. Baby steps. LOVE DAVE RAMSEY!!!

We just got "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey and absolutely love it. It gives you a clear cut plan and how to take that budget and make it useful. Our library has a copy which we checked out, we also bought the Audiobook from ITunes and you can find out a lot of information on DaveRamsey.com. Find the part that talks about the baby steps. It also has a downloadable budget and podcasts of his radio program that are great to listen to. Good Luck!

I have two excellent books you need to get by Suze Orman. "Women and Money", "9 steps to financial Freedom" I found them cheap on Amazon. You can also check out this web site it has the best financial advice. http://www.suzeorman.com/
