Need OB-GYN in Naugatuck Area

Hi. I'm needing to find an OB-GYN in the Naugatuck area. I'm way overdue for a visit, mostly because I want to find someone who I've heard a lot of good things about. My husband would prefer it was a female, but I don't care myself. So preference is female, but if you don't know any female ones feel free to mention male also. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love Dr John Kaczmarek. He's located in Waterbury by the hospital. There are women doctors in the practice as well but it takes a long time to get an appointment with them. I was nervous about going to a male gyn but he's the best. I went to him after someone else recommended him to me. If you call for an appointment just call him Dr. Kaz (that's what the nurses call him).

Saint M.'s Hospital.

Dr. Hakim is a wonderful OB-GYN. His office is right up the hill from Wtby Hosp. He has been my Dr. for years. My mom and sister in law also go to him. He took wonderful care of me when I was preganant with my twin boys (now 7 months old). I had a very difficult high risk pregnancy. He sent me to Yale Maternal Fetal for weeks 20-30 because he felt they were better equiped to care for my babies if they were born early. I was at very high risk for pre-term labor. After I made it to week 30 he told me that I could come back to him and deliver in Wtby or I could stay with the Yale Doctors in New Haven. His feeling was that my husband and I needed to do whatever we were comfortable with. I really respected the fact that he referred me to Yale when he felt that I could not be adequately cared for at Waterbury hospital should an emergency arise. He also takes the time to get know your spouse. My husband loves him and was very happy with the care I received throughout. Dr. Hakim actually wheeled me into the Operating Room himself when I delivered my boys. He is the only Dr. in his practice so you don;t have to see a different doctor every time you go, especially if you are planning to have another baby. He does have an associate that covers for him when is on vacation(which is very infrequent). When I was in labor he stopped in to see me before Dr. Hakim got there (it only took him 15 minutes to get there) I can't say enough good things about him. Trust me, you will love him! His phone number is ###-###-####. FYI about Naug Valley OB-GYN, I used to go there before switching to Dr. Hakim. I my mom and I both had some problmes with one of the Dr.'s there. The practice is so huge that you don't get much of a personal treatment. When you call Dr. Hakim, you get an immediate response to any question or problem and they always know you by name when you call.

Hi T.,

Mom of 3 children:1,3 and 5.

Dr. Janet Vodra is wonderful, she is at Associated Women's Health Specialists ###-###-####) in waterbury. I loved having her as my OB-GYN, I highly rec'd meeting her. My mom even goes to her now and loves her. I don't actually go there anymore, but only because when i was pregnant i wanted to have a water birth at St. Mary's and she only delivered at Waterbury Hopital. So, I started seeing the midwives at Specialists in Women's Healthcare which is actually in the same parking lot. I just decided to stay with them because we want more kids and want to use The Birthplace again. Good luck!!!
