It is not a celebration here, without a Pinata..

The youngest kids do not need a blind fold.

You can fill it with small toys, Stickers, Temporary tattoos, Band-aides. small boxes of raisins.. Candy..

Who will be attending? Other two year olds? Older cousins? How many kids? Are you having a meal?

You could have the kids decorate Easter egg shaped cookies. I like the Easter Bunny photo idea too. If there is a playground at the park then leave it fairly unstructured. The kids will be happy just to run around and play.

How about pin the (cotton) tail on the bunny?
(Are there other kids or is this a family Easter/birthday combination?)

Maybe hire a bunny character and have kids take pics with and give as a party favor. Put sticker on back of pic "Thanks for coming to ____'s 2nd Birthday Party"

You said everyone is usually barbequing so why not make the party a barbeque? The kids can play outside (you can have a table with blocks and coloring sheets too) and the rest falls into place.

Welcome to mamapedia!

That's quiet a range of ages for a 2 year olds party. You realize that the child might get overwhelmed and have a meltdown, right?

Set up the 5 w's:
who
what
where
when
why

Obviously - your son's 2nd birthday is the who and why - BBQ party is the what - where? no clue. when? no clue.

Your cousins might be able to help keep your child occupied by playing games. You said people were normally BBQing - so why not make it a BBQ party? I don't understand the dilemma here. Put a BBQ party together with some games and have fun. Plan it for AFTER your child's nap so he will be well rested.

Game can be SIMPLE games - pin the tail on the donkey, a pinata. I would NOT do too much. Use the KISS Method - Keep it Simple Silly.

Have fun! Happy birthday!

How about turkey burgers with fresh fruit, veggies and cupcakes for the birthday dessert.
