Hi B.,

Check with the Superior Court in Mesa. I believe this is closer than the one in Phoenix to you. They have a self-help section that will explain the steps and provide the forms to you. You may want to find out when they have free legal counsel to take in the paper work for review.

Go to the self-service center at the Superior Court, either in Phoenix or Mesa. They have all the forms you need and people who will help you get the correct ones. Those folks aren't lawyers, though, and will not/can not give you legal advice. They will tell you how and where to file. You can fill the forms out yourself (I did my whole divorce with a ball point pen). Good luck.

Go to the dept of child support enforcement on Dobson and Guadalupe. You'll need the babys birth cert, soc sec card, the dads contact info. It does take about 2 months for them to activate the case. They'll sit down with you and make sure you fill out all the proper forms. Once the case is rolling they'll send you updates and theres a number to call. You can also file with Family Court.
Good Luck!

Hello, My company (Primerica Financial Services, a member of Citigroup)offers Pre-Paid Legal that only cost every month 25 dollars. And I know through that you may also use it for child support but it may cost extra but having the membership gives you a certain discount or maybe if you do sign up, you can ask what to do, or where you should start out. It's really beneficial to have a lawyer at your conveniance when you have questions about anything. Not to mention this is the top quality law firm here in Arizona.
If your interested just let me know and we could get you started. Hope I was of any help and good luck.

Here is the website to assist you in filing out the forms that need to be completed. http://ecourt.maricopa.gov/ It has been quite a few years since I filed my paperwork but it is very easy to do on your own so don't pay a lawyer to help. I think it took about 4-5 months before the whole process was complete and I finally got money. Good luck!

Contact local DES (Department of Economic Security)and they will set an appt. for you to come in and fill out application for help. I don't know if you need this info too, but if you qualify (depending on income), you may be eligible for medical benefits/health insurance, food stamps (coupons that spend as cash when grocery shopping), childcare assistance, extra cash assistance each month...
The idea is to provide help/resources, until you are able to support your family.
They will also set up child support through bio father as this is his duty to help as well.
HTH!
God bless you and baby!
