I am 5 weeks pregnant and I need an OB. I was hoping for someone that had either an office in west chester or an office near the hospitals (Good Sam/Univ/Christ) in Cincinnati. I also need to deliver at Good Sam. I am looking for someone that is personable and with good medical knowledge.

What can I do next?

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and am a lifelong GHA patient, so I just happen to have the info on hand.

Group Health Associates has 5 OB's that deliver at GSH.

Barry Blumenthal has visits in their Clifton and Springdale locations.
Scott Firestein and Regina Whitflied Kekessi have visits in their Clifton and Western Hills locations.
Tara Knipper and Lee Lautman have visits in their Anderson and Clifton locations.

The Clifton location is very close to Good Sam.

I Love Group Health Associates. They have multiple locations. I'm not sure if they would deliver at Good Sam if they are located in West Chester. They may deliever at Bethesda North which is in TriHealth (same group as Good Sam.)
You can look them up at www.cgha.com

I go to For Women Inc. They have an office right off of Glendale Milford road in Evendale and another office in Clifton. I believe they deliver a large percentage of the babies born at Good Sam. It is a practice of 7 women doctors. I was a high risk pregnancy and saw each one of them at one point in time throughout my pregnancy. They all have great medical knowlege. Of course, the one I saw the least actaully delivered my baby emergency C-section, but she did a fantastic job! The delivery nurse I had at Good Sam was excellent too. I would ask to see Dr Wurzbacher for a first visit, she has lots of energy and she is one of my favorites. I went to the Evendale location 10475 Reading Rd Ste. 307 Cincinnati, OH 45242 phone number ###-###-####. Also, they didn't push me either way as far as natural or c-section. Good luck!

I LOVE Crescent Women's Medical Group!! They are near Bethesda North so I don't know if that's out of the way or not. I don't know about them going to Good Sam. They are all women-a few docs and a few midwifes. They really take the time to get to know you.

They are absolutely the best!
I changed to Dr. Bowen exactly 6 days before I delivered my first son. I've stayed with them, and had a second son. Ask me any specific questions you like.

Best wishes,
K.

Hi R.!

First off, let me say CONGRATULATIONS!!! =) I would HIGHLY recommend either Dr. Terri Hoopes or Dr. Graig Smith with Samaritan OB/GYN ... they are located in the Medical Office Building connected to Good Sam. I've been seeing Dr. Hoopes (GYN) for years; and LOVE her! She is so down-to-earth and very personable! Dr. Smith delivered one of my two daughters. We had some complications after she was born (she had AIT); and he was very helpful! When I got pregnant with my second daughter; he put together a plan of how we were going to deliver her so she wouldn't have the troubles that my first daughter had. He was always available whenever I had a question and is a great doctor. We wanted him to deliver my second daughter; but he wasn't on-call when my c-section was scheduled. Actually, any doctor at Samaritan OB/GYN is good; but these two really stood out to me. GOOD LUCK in your venture (it's a great one!) and let me know if I can help you any more. If you want their phone number or any other info; just send me an e-mail. =)

I would warn you that when you see her you typically have to wait in the exam room 20-30 minutes BUT she has NEVER rushed me, listens to me and has always answered all my questions and looks for solutions to any problems. She tells you what is going to happen and tries to let you know approximately how it feels. she has EXCELLENT bedside manner and she is SUPER nice.
