Need Advice on Swimming and Fun Activities to Do with My 7 Month Old????
Hi there mamas! I need some advice, I have been trying to research this on my own and haven't come up with anything good. I want to join a mommy-and-me swim class and hopefully learn of other fun stuff I can do with my 7 month old girl. I live in Naperville and I have looked into the Naperville park ditrict and on their website and in the program book for the fall they do not have any type of that stuff for infants. I was wondering if any of you moms out there have used the YMCA?? They do have quite a few things to with babies at this age. Let me know if anyone has gone anywhere else I have not mentioned, we have only been in the area for less than a year so I'm not sure what else is out there. :) Thanx in advance for all your help, you ladies are awesome!!!

I agree about the Bolingbrook Park District. In fact my sister teaches there (so maybe I'm a little biased). I have taken my infant son there and he has so much fun!

Music Together has baby classes. We have been doing MT since my first son was 9 months old and both kids love it. We go to classes with Miss Joan at www.naperfieldmusictogether.com but there is also classes in downtown Naperville. Once your daughter is 15 months Mini Gym through the park district is a fun class.

DuPage Swim Center is great for lessons. They my kids stopped taking lessons there about a year ago. They loved the teachers, especially Miss Mary Beth. The pool is heated-which is a must. It is a smaller facility, and not as many distractions for the little ones. It's right by Blueberry Hill, Jewel, and that volleyball complex off of Eola. They do have a website if you need their address.

My son and I recently did a mommy-n-me swimming class at the YMCA (he was 6 mos. at the time). We did it with a friend of mine and her son and ended up to be the only ones in the class so it was like a private lesson. It was fun and the boys really enjoyed it. I would recommend it.

Hi M. K! I did the swim class at the Y with my daughter when she was 6 months old and she LOVED it! It also made bathtime a lot easier too. My daughter is 2-1/2 now and still can't wait to go to swim class on Sat. mornings. It is a half hour class and they do lots of songs to get them acquainted with the water. They don't put pressure on you to "dunk" your kids and it is a very nurturing environment. Honestly, it's more like mommy-and-me bathtime fun (and many daddies are there too, especially on Sat. mornings!) - and the water is very warm! We belong to the Y in Glen Ellyn off of Roosevelt Rd. Best of luck!

The dupage swim center is a nice facility. We had a short membership there, but didn't take classes. You use to be able to get monthly passes fairly cheap, not sure what it's like now.

Hi there,
Also consider the Fox Valley park district. They have a wonderful facility on Indian Trail road called the VAC. I have took my daughter there for swimming classes since she was 9 months old. She is now 2 and like a fish. She just loves water. The pool is immaculate always nice and warm. its not crowded and they have really nice changing rooms which is a small separate room with a shower, basin and toilet as well as baby changing facility. As your little one start to walk it is nice that you can close the door and have total privacy.
Their website is: http://www.foxvalleyparkdistrict.org/. You can look up all the classes and register online too. Hope this helps.
