Swim Classes for 6 Month Old

I'm looking for swim classes for my 6 month old daughter. I live in Shorewood...and our Park District doesn't offer any. I've looked at Joliet, Bolingbrook and the Dupage Aquatic Center...does anyone know of any other pools that offer mom and tot swim classes? Fox Valley said 3 - 5 years.

What can I do next?

I took a class called Water Babies at the Joliet Park District when my son was 6 months old. I believe it is still there.

Hi A.,

I am 2 weeks into my first swim lesson sessions with my 2 kids, ages 12 months and 4 years. We go through the Lockport Park District and it's a great program - I will be signing them up for the next session too. Right now we go 2 days a week and the infant class is 30 minutes long and the minimum age is 6 mos.

Hi A.,
The C.W. Avery YMCA in Plainfield offers parent-child swim classes started at 6 months. We've taken them and would definitely recommend them. This may be closer for you than going to Bolingbrook or DuPage. You can check them out at www.jolietymca.org.

We also go to the YMCA. (C.W Avery). We have had both our kids in their swim programs (as well as other programs there) and everything has been wonderful. The parent tot swim class is really good to get your little one used to being in the water. It's a really nice facility and the teachers are great.

One of those require the child to be 9 months but I can't remember.

Have fun!

I live in Shorewood also and have taken my son to the Rush Copley Healthplex since he was 6 months old. They have a "thearputic" pool that is very warm. You do not have to be a member in order to sign up for swim classes. I just shoot up Route 30 and it takes me only 20-25 minutes.

go to isr chicago website....may be a bit more than what you are looking for but just something you can consider
