Hi C.,

I've seen people get very good results with Shaklee's Enfuselle line of skincare products with scars. My personal favorite is Enfuselle C&E Repair and Enfuselle Calming Complex. The products are safe, natural and guaranteed to work or your money back. I know I used Mederna after food surgery before I was introduced to Shaklee, but I would use the C&E repair cream over that now. I always prefer a natural alternative if there is one available especially for children. If you want more information, let me know.

Hi,

I don't know specifically for burns, but my daughter had good results on a surgical scar. Mederma was recommended for us by the pediatric dermatologist at Children's Memorial Hospital. There is a kids version that changes color when it is rubbed in enough. We had to do a mini massage for several minutes. As another poster mentioned, be sure that the wound is completely healed before applying Mederma, and be vigilant about minimizing sun exposure and using sunscreen for a year after injury. Good luck.

we used it for surgery scars. you have to wait till ther is not open skin. do not put on any blisters or open wonds that will get into the body etc. you still see a sacr that is for sure but it is light, they say keep the scar away from sun and tanning and that should help too. I would ask your dr on a child that young

My niece is almost 5. She got burned by pulling a pot of boiling water off the stove--she loves ramen soup and didn't want to wait. The burn happened when she was about 3 yrs. My sister started using Mederma about 6 months ago. She says it has been really great and has reduced the scarring a lot compared to the way it used to be. My niece was burned along her upper chest and left arm.
