Need a High Risk Ob Gyn near Naperville / Edward Hospital.
We are new to the area and I am looking for an ob gyn. We had my son, now 12 months, 9 weeks early due to an emergency c-section. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
So What Happened?™
Thank you so much everyone for the help. I guess to clarify, I am not yet pregnant, but would like to find a doctor since we are planning soon. It is time for my yearly, so I think it will be a great time to meet a new ob gyn. I feel like I have some really good options now, so thank you again.

I saw Dr Pirozhnik (in the same group with Dr Jensen) along with the other drs in the group. My entire pregnancy was high risk, which also resulted in my son being born at 31 weeks. Dr Jensen's group was good, but, I was on bed rest from 20 wks on, in the hospital the last two weeks and (because you rotate throught the drs) each dr would have a different opinion on what I could/could not do each day....a little frustrating! You would probably also see a perinatologist and Dr Jensen's group works with Drs Yang, Taylor and Moran. They were WONDERFUL and I cannot say enough about them!!
Good luck!

S., I use the Women's Healthcare Associates out of Rush Copley in Aurora. These doctors are absolutely wonderful! My favorite is Dr. S. Simmons. Here's the number for the practice: ###-###-####.

I see Julie Jensen. The group is wonderful and they deal with high risk pregnancies. She delivered my son c-section, I was higher risk. They are located just across the parking lot from Edwards. This group also delivered all of my cousins babies and my girlfriends children. Dr. Jensen is my favorite but they are all great!

Hi S.,
I'm new to the area also, but feel lucky to have found a group of doctors in the Dupage system. I go to Maryann Phillippi. She is easy to talk to, careful and observant. I have not seen the other doctors in her team, as I am not pregnant, but I'm sure they are all good. She has children herself, so she knows what it's like to have a baby. She has an office right there at Edward Hospital.
I was in bed from 24 weeks on with my first baby, so I know how close I came to giving birth to a preemie. Luckily, I made it to 37 weeks. I thought I'd have the same issue with my second, but made it all the way to 40 weeks. Take heart in this - you may too! Drink water all day long to keep from becoming dehydrated - the uterus is made of smooth muscle tissue that contracts when it becomes dehydrated. And pee often - when the bladder presses on your uterus, that can cause contractions. So drink and pee, drink and pee. Laying on your left side when you rest helps too.
Good luck, and enjoy your new area. All my best to you in getting used to your new home and having a good pregnancy!

I believe that Meghan Flannery at Naperville Womens Healtcare does high risk pregnancies. I have only met with her on occasion. However, I love the other doctors/nurses/staff there! They are wonderful! They are located right by Edward Hospital.

Another vote for Dr. Julie Jensen and her group. I do not know if they are specifically for high risk pregnancies, but they are infertility specialists, so I imagine that with the high frequency of multiples that come with fertility treatments, they probably handle many high risk situations.
Dr. Jensen was one of the few doctors in the area who allowed me to attempt a VBAC, although we did end up having to have another c-section. She is SOOO friendly and really put me at ease throughout the pregnancy.

I also recommend the doctors at DuPage Medical Group. Dr. Maryann Phillippi delivered my first baby and Dr. Martin (out of the same group) delivered my second and both were c-sections. The doctors in this group are fantastic.
