Hi moms,

Thank you in advance for your input! I am due in 2 weeks with a baby girl and my husband and I can't agree on a name. I'm really stressing over this, I'm a planner. Any suggestions? We like different, but not weird names. And her middle name will be Jeanne (my grandma) so it has to flow. My tops right now are Lia and Miranda. Did I mention that his family is Spanish speaking? Yeah, so it has to be something easy to say also if it's not a Spanish name. Thanks SO much for any help!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the suggestions. After much deliberation, we chose Kayla Jeanne.

Hi S.!

I'm in the same boat as you in that one side of the family is spanish. That would be mine, so we too had to pick names that if they weren't spanish had to be easy to pronounce. We have two boys named Nathan and Nicholas!

As for girls name I love Nydia (this was my mother's middle name and my niece is named after her!). My sisters and I loved the name so much that growing up we argued about who was going to name their daughter after her.(My oldest sister won) Others I also like Cianna, Amarilys, Thalia and Damaris. Different but pretty.

Congratulations on your baby girl! And good luck on your quest!

M.

My friend's daughter is named Kalei Jean. I think it flows pretty well. The name Kalei (also spelled Kaleigh, Kaylee, etc.) used to be different, but is fairly commonplace now. I think your husband's family would be able to say it as well. Hope this helps!

I am really into this one baby name website right now! It lets you search for names and meanings by heritage. They have thousands of names along with origin, meaning and differing spellings. I just had a baby, and have 2 pregnant girlfriends, so this one is bookmarked! It's babyhold.com.
