Need a Gift for Tutor Today

My daughter's math tutoring session was supposed to be Wednesday but we rescheduled it to today because of a test coming up tomorrow. I don't have anything for the tutor for Christmas yet and need some quick ideas.

She's in her mid-50s, a former teacher, and we adore her! She's been a great help to my daughter this school year and last. I don't know where she and her husband like to eat, so a restaurant gift card is out. She does quite often use her own paper and copier to prepare for the lessons. I was thinking maybe an Office Max or Staples gift card. What do you ladies think? My brain isn't functioning yet this morning. Help!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I took some of your suggestions, thanks! I got an American Express gift card and a nice card for my daughter to write in, and I also had a cute glass Christmas cupcake at home and stuck some ghirardelli chocolate squares in there and I'm good to go!

Toni, I drive quite a ways to school and also to the tutor. And I have the busiest week ever starting tomorrow. I'd like to get something today and give it to her when I'm there rather than drive there again later this week. (Although you're right, I could mail her a gift card, but I'm sure she'll have something for my daughter today.)

How about a Visa gift card that she could anywhere she would like. She could even use to go out to dinner with her husband!

I am a tutor - and I can say that if it were me, I would love a gift card to my favorite coffee place or a bookstore!

It is nice of you to think of your tutor!

Happy holidays!

I have to second the Visa gift card. She can use it on anything she desires and you can get them at most grocery stores - bonus for ease and access.

If you get a gift card, I would attach it to a small bouqet of grocery store flowers or a box of chocolate. It would be lovely for your daughter to hand her flowers, over just a gift card. It shows so much more affection and gratitude and will make your daughter smile ear to ear. I buy $4.99 to $7.99 bouquets at Kroger and Albertsons.

I love the fact that you want to get the tutor a gift....I've been the tutor. :) I wouldn't give her a gift of office supplies. She can write that off on her taxes.

I like the idea a general Visa gift card. Money is always appreciated! Can you ask your daughter if she has any ideas (via text??)?
Bath and Body Works? Starbucks?

Good luck! And thanks for thinking of her.

AFTER READING YOUR SO WHAT HAPPENED: Because she is giving your daughter something, does not mean you MUST hand something to her at the same time. In fact, if she gets something in the mail a few days later, it might be a nice surprise, especially if you are feeling overwhelmed and running out of time.

It isn't Christmas yet, you have plenty of time, you can mail her gift. Chil out!

Blessings.....
